seems like that would be more accurately posted in a thread with a theme of "let's celebrate black intellectuals." or, even better, "let's celebrate black intellectuals you've never heard of."

subtle trash-talk there, though. i ALMOST didn't see it.

anyway, the thing is, if people post threads saying "post your favorite [whatever]" and people post lists in response, i make fun of people who post lists in response. period. because what's the point of responding to what's supposed to be some degree of intellectual exercise with 95 answers? or, you know, any other huge number of answers. it's one thing to sweat to decide between those two options you CANNOT break a tie between and another to list every single person you can think of that fits the criteria.
