Anyone plan on getting any of the Google Watches or the iWatch when it drops?

As long as these watches bring down the prices of non digital watches, fine with me

That's not going to happen. The prices of watches aren't really dictated by their functionality or lack thereof. -
I bought the gear2 neo because I can't just pull my phone out when im at work. So it's great for me to be able to know when I get a call, text, or email without having to use my phone. If it wasn't for work I honestly wouldn't have bought one though.

Yeah that's pretty much the reason I'm considering one too. -
I think its unnecessary, thats why I don't have much to say about it.

I was leaning away from these, but I think I might actually cop this one.
I like Asus products; this one actually looks like a nice watch; and it's supposed to be under $200 so it's not like I'd be wasting a bunch of money on a useless product. -
Yeah that's clean^
Asus make good products
Never had problems with their stuff -
asus (aside from lenovo) makes the best laptops and they have other good devices as well. so if i were to purchase a smartwatch from any manufacturer it would def. be them

The best looking smartwatch I've seen so far. The whole concept still seems like a gimmick to me. -

I don't think it's a gimmick, but I do think it's something that will only really be useful to certain people. That said, the watches are <$300 for the most part. In other words, they are around what you'd pay for a nice watch anyway, so if they start making them look nice enough to compete with standard watches there really wouldn't be a reason not to give one a try.
FYI
Moto 360 with metal bands

rooted galaxy gear>>>

Pebble just dropped to $100 might try that as a entry into the smartwatch craze
A lot of reviewers still say it's the best smartwatch out there -
I think I'll wait for the tech to improve a little bit more.
Do they have any rugged versions out? -

Yeah, that's probably the wisest route. It seems like they all have issues they have to work on.
I don't know how ruggedized any of them are. I believe the Samsung watches are waterproof, but I don't know how well any of them withstand abuse. Apple's watch is supposed to come in a sport variant so maybe that one will be a little more rugged. -

The most rugged one right now is probably the LG G Watch R.

Just saw the new Sony is on the tougher side too

How is it?

Does exactly what I'd expect a smart watch to do. Its a companion to your phone you can read and reply to texts, email etc thru google now set reminders get turn by turn nav control your phone settings, play and control yiur music and video etc. I've only had it one day but I think for $99 its worth it anything more would just be for design IMO.
I'm at work and this is the first time I've pulled out my phone today. Also I think the battery is better than a lot of reviewers have said. Its been off the charger for 5 hrs now and the battery is on 89%

Cool. I might cop that Asus joint. I just need to check out some reviews of it.
