There's a disgust with both lightskin women and the Black men that prefer them, because not only is it evidence of community dividing colorism, but also, all this, "Oh yeah, I'm lightskin" stuff is real. Often times, lightskin women actually do ACT lightskin, actively seeking to benefit from the ridiculousness that is colorism in the Black community.
? wanna defend their right to have a "preference," evading all conversations suggesting that their "preferences" have been guided by White media; And lightskin women wanna hide behind and benefit from that ignorance. It's just silly, but it's ramifications are serious..

While the mentality may not be so linear, it's not far off. Typically, lightskin / mixed women exemplify Eurocentric beauty standards more so than darker skin women. I mean damn, many darker skin women that are considered "beautiful" have the same features, but are just chocolateier.
And ftr, I'm aware that White features predate White people. It's just the way that Whites have spun this whole thing has had very apparent, very damaging effects on Us.. -
