According to Enemies, journalist Tim ? 's history of the FBI, Sullivan "had a package of the King sex tapes prepared by the FBI's lab technicians," and sent it along with this letter to King's home. The package was opened by King's wife.
"You have been on the record — all your adulterous acts, your sexual orgies extending far into the past. This one is but a tiny sample," the letter says. It threatens that the public "will know you for what you are — an evil, abnormal beast." It continues: "Your 'honorary' degrees, your Nobel prize (what a grim farce) and other awards will not save you. King, I repeat you are done."
Though the letter was unsigned and the letter-writer appeared to want King to think he was black — "you know you are a complete fraud and a great liability to all of us Negroes," one line states — King and his advisers quickly concluded the letter had been sent by the FBI, Gage writes.
"There is only one thing left for you to do. You know what it is. You have just 34 days," the letter says, apparently urging King to commit suicide. Fortunately, King didn't back down. But the letter is a terrifying reminder of what government surveillance agencies can be capable of.

What proof is there that this came from the FBI?
Could've come from anyone who opposed him. -

Let's not go overboard here. If evil would be a man with a gun, Hoover would only be the gun. He didn't call no shots. -
? it was a time where he basically was more powerful than the presidents b.

And this didn't make every news outlet??? CNN, msnbc should've reported this also.
I swear I HATE this ? country. -
Read this in Loaded Lux's voice for some reason.
"Look at me, King!" -
Some things never change

MSNBC talked about it, of course mainstream media isn't going to go out of their way to cover this story. IIRC, Judge Joe Brown (before he got his show) presided over a case where the government was exposed as taking part in the killing of King or something like that. It's been awhile since I read it

It's disgusting isn't it...I guess the media doesn't want to spark up more racial tensions but still this is a big story, even if it's a little old to be honest, something like this came out last year I believe

The FBI was heavily involved in spying on civil rights movements. And they were the only ones with the power and resources to gather such intel. Reads like the letter was typed by a black person, likely a spy himself as well.
In hindsight, if all they claim to have on him is some sex romps I really don't see how that changes anything. -
