I was gonna give this album another chance. But from what im reading not only does this ? not rap but he doesn't even say words. The reason let me down.

Nowadays, you'll hear an album for a couple of times to rate it & see is it a classic or not but this album was different, it only took one listen from me to stamp it as a classic.
I love live instruments in music. You can't beat that feeling & that's what the game is missing now. A musician in the studio playing live instruments to complement your vocals to make the music better.

Had the band and backup singers rockin "Black Lives Matter" & "I Can't Breathe" shirts -
? . That SNL performance. Killing it on the guitar, I could actually understand the words better than on the album, the Black Lives Matter shirts, the chalk outline, fists in the air.
Yea that made my day already. -

I play this album more than I do To ? a Butterfly, Tetsuo & Youth, and B4da$$. The reason why I'm bumpin this thread is to make people aware of this instant classic. It's already one of my favorite albums of all time, if you're a fan of pure soul you HAVE to listen to this. D'Angelo is three for three, three classics in a row.

I gotta revisit this at some point...had gotten frustrated that I couldn't understand a word the ? was saying and only listened to it 2-3 times. Almost wish this was just an instrumental album.
