Snoop Dogg has revealed that he’ll be joining the production team of a yet to be titled family drama for HBO, focusing on the the lives of an LA family as the politics and cultural climate of the time converge on their community. The show has apparently brought on Peabody Award winning writer Rodney Barnes (of The Boondocks and Everybody Hates Chris) to pen the show and Allen Hughes (of The Hughes Brothers) to direct the series. Not much else is known about the program other than the back-end contributors, but we’ll certainly be keeping our eye and ears on a swivel for the next few words. This is, of course, just the latest bit in what seems like an endless torrent of production from Snoop, who just gave us the wholly psychedelic visual treatment for his new single “Peaches N’ Cream” the other day and found himself playing, well, himself and performing the boogie-blessed number on the season finale of Empire earlier this week. If you just can’t seem to get enough of Uncle Snoop, be sure to jump back and peep those. Otherwise, just hold tight as his Pharrell-produced Bush LP (or as I like to put it, Rhythm & Gantgsta Part Deux) will be arriving on May 12th, with preorders already underway on iTunes.
