Worse...and it wouldn't be worth it for the ? I put up w/. I make b/w $16-$17 now (10% shift premium for night shift) and b/w $18-$19 on the weekends (another 10% premium for weekends). I also get a guaranteed 12-15 hours of overtime every pay period. I bring home about $2500/month after taxes which is cool for now b/c I have no kids.

Had scholarships and paid for my own school, bruh. Everybody that is successful doesn't need a handout. Nice try though

"Secret" is to get a degree that is aligned with what employers are actually looking for. Not just get one to hang a diploma on the wall. Initiative and networking don't hurt either.

    Depends on the individual.
My pops was big on education, and basically told my siblings and I we were going to college. I appreciate it now, because I have no aspirations to own or run my own business. I also needed a degree to get where I'm at now, and for advancement.
If you're going to go the school route, I think you need to be smart about it and have a plan. Real good idea to go to a community college for the first two years. Also, pick a major were the outlook is promising.
I went the school route, and acquired some school debt but it's paid off for me. I'm doing pretty well, and that debt is gone. I also made some lifetime networking opps.

At least....it's how I managed to make it to 26 as a black male with 0 kids and 0 felonies but since I work in the mental health field, a lot of my hours are spent on school work and smoking weed...so it works out for the best

Math. Business admin as my undergrad. I work as a substitute teacher. Some days I don't even get work, although it's rare.I mean yeah, there are personal things that effect my financial situation. I will say that I manage to live independently making extra money through other ventures. I just wanted to point out that going to school doesn't always get you to where you want to be in life. Too many variables.

I was invited to a yacht party by this guy I knew in in Jr. high. He works in the porn industry. I remember vividly how I use to tutor this ? . He still can't read or write, but he's like a millionaire now.

That's unfortunate brotha. You are absolutely right- school doesn't guarantee you anything ... Nothing does. But a degree can be a very valueable asset to use on your path.

Thousands of people make it without one. But I think the overarching message is not that all degrees are bad, but rather that you should have a plan and know what is necessary to traverse it.

People that fall into wealth are the exception. Exceptions don't disprove the rule, they prove it.
