They had a classic in Germany in 1992 during Savage's last run as champion. It made me an HBK fan. I remember my homeboy getting the tape from Blockbuster and bringing it to my house to watch it. They could have pulled off some amazing stuff with a more developed story.

I think Vince didnt want to do it not just because Savage was old but also because he didn't see Shawn as a main event talent then. Vince didnt even trust Shawn to main event WM 11 and if it wasnt for Pat Patterson he probably wouldnt have main evented 12 either.

You don't realize how short of a run HBK had. He was the man for, what, 3 years?

That's hardly a short run considering the wrestling environment at the time.

Considering the HBK/Diesel match at WMXI, Savage would of been way better. Vince should of pulled the trigger on that ? .

Shawn Michaels had a 15 year run, from 90 to 05.

    NEVER LOST CLEAN.

    And, benouncingly, was champ.

What losses? stone cold wore an illeagal knee brace. the rock wore extra padding and graphitti tattoos. He beat Bret Hart. he beat ramon. he beat Deisel. Show me a Shawn Michaels loss video.

He was out from 99-01. Hard to lose when youre not active.

Wait. Didn't he lose to Razor Ramon in a ladder match?

Update: Yes. RR beat Michaels at WM10 (1994) in that all-time great match.

Bret owned him in the early 90s when he was doin that side suplex finisher. Razon beat him clean in the first epic ladder match.

I grew up on it ....Shawn had talent I liked him as a rocker. But when he started stealing moves acting ? and being a sucker I couldnt ? with him. Vince pushed him to spite my all time fav in Bret so I'm biased lol

He stole the super kick from Marty Jannetty. Jannetty used it as a regular move and then Shawn swiped it. Shawn used it as a regular move for awhile too even when that weak suplex was his finisher.

Its no different than Eddie Guerrero stealing Art Barr's frog splash, only Jannetty isnt dead...yet.

Just some trivia: Jannetty's finisher - The Rocker Dropper - was stolen by Billy Gunn (The Fame Asser) and now Dolph Ziggler uses it as a high spot.

Its crazy how jobbers and nobodies use moves that get stolen by bigger name guys and nobody really notices.

Chris Adams popularized the super kick down in WCCW (more trivia: "Gentleman" Chris Adams trained some jobber named Steve Austin)
