I'm not even gonna get mad at the artists or the label for this fuckery. If the artists and the label can save time and money by simply reversing or bleeping out the profanity, as opposed to writing a clean version then recording that, then have at it and more power to them. In this case the blame solely rests with the program directors who think it's acceptable to play a record where damn near every other word is bleeped out. It makes the song impossible to listen to and gives you yet another reason not to listen to the radio. If Clear Channel and Emmis issued a edict saying not to play these ? up radio edits, then artists would be forced to making better radio versions of their songs. Hell, they used to do it back in the day.
One of my favorite radio edits. The piano is sick.
If these dudes can make proper radio edits, then why can't these new dudes?

Its the artists fault actually. Its not the radio djs job to make a clean version for you
-
The artist and label's fault and only gonna hurt the artist and label in the end when radio stations don't wanna play their ? .
-
Ja Rule used to make a mean radio edit lol
-
Yeah those radio edit version are complete asscheeks.
Oddly enough, I prefer the radio edit version of Ante Up (Remix) to the uncensored version. -

There are some radio versions that are better than the regular profanity laced version. Pour Out A Little Liquor radio version is the biggest example.

Brooklyn Zoo I have to say has one of the best radio version.

Wu effects were goat

Because it cost alot. Soul Asylum studios in ATL charge 1200 to mix and 500 to master the song.
So unless u willing to pay double for a clean and ? version then its just getting bleeped on radio -
Yeah, I think it's just more cost effective for the artist to do only 1 version. Does suck though because bleeped out versions are horrible. OP has a point though. If radio stations demanded clean versions artists/labels would find a way to make it happen. I just wouldn't hold underground artists to that same standard though.

It's the fans' fault for listening.
To a VERY LIMITED EXTENT, radio is going to play what the people request. So if they keep asking for "Getting Some Head" or that one song where Wayne says in the first two lines "? these ? I swear to ? on everything ? these ? "... radio will either give the people a version of what they really want or risk losing them to personally music collections.
Stop putting up with the FCC and society's illogical, a-historical, and religious zeal. The only thing that's profane is the idea that language should be censored out of existence. -
I feel they should play music in its entirety. It is an artform, and therefore should not be restricted in any fashion. We should experience music as was intended by its creator. Everyone, even children know what they are actually saying anyway
-
Also, any artist who truly believes in their music will tell labels and radio to go ? themselves. Cube would never make a clean version of Cop Killa or Cave ? . KRS would never clean up ANYTHING on Criminal Minded.
