June, BOOM! Studios revealed they had partnered with Saban Brands and would begin publishing "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" comics. As recently as New York Comic Con, they announced Hendry Prasetya ("Power Girl") will join writer Kyle Higgins ("Batman Eternal," "Nightwing") on the #0 issue. Now, Boom! has unveiled Prasetya's character designs for the upcoming series (via ComicBook.com).

"The personalities are the same," Higgins shared in the interview. "At least, I think they are. [Laughs] There’s some modernizing as far as situations and subplots, language, etc, but the characters are the characters.

"Midnighter" scribe Steve Orlando will also pen a Bulk and Skull back-up story for the issue; an artist for this tale has not yet been announced. The #0 issue will include one-page "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" story by writer Mairghread Scott and artist Daniel Bayliss, which debuted at this past Comic-Con International in San Diego.

While there have been many iterations of the "Power Rangers" franchise since it's debut in 1993, BOOM! has specified that their series will feature the heroes as depicted in the first season of the popular show.

"We have big, big plans that will build on the core universe of 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,'" BOOM! Studios editor-in-chief Matt Gagnon said previously in a statement. "We can’t give too much away just yet, but the story we’re kicking off with is vast in scope."

One of the most popular kids' franchises of its time, the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" show ran from 1993 to 1995, spawning a film and numerous sequel series.

Higgins and Prasetya's "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" #0 is scheduled to arrive in January.
