They need to do one set back in the 60's, or around a war or something. I'd say farther back, but the character almost couldn't be black because of how it was back then, a ? would stay with one star on the game and ? lol smh.

I think it'd be cool to have one in the past too. Maybe great depression days and your bootlegging from the big city to the country areas where they make the moonshine. Don't have to be a gta, but a Rockstar game based in that time would be dope.

The Grand Theft Auto series has never left the US—or its fictional account of it, anyway—but apparently it once came close to boarding Air O for a trip to Tokyo. According to our friends at TechRadar, a source close to Rockstar says the developer was "serious" about making a GTA set in Tokyo, but pulled the plug after assessing the difficulty of moving the series outside the US. According to the source, Rockstar even made a trip to Japan to scope out the city.

TechRadar also notes that in 2003, Rockstar applied for trademarks to protect "GTA: Tokyo" and "GTA: Bogota," and though the news was reported at the time, I don't recall it causing much of a stir. I think we all assumed: Sure, GTA can go anywhere, sounds good! But TR's source says that Rockstar decided against changing GTA staples like cars and brands. Speculation on my part factors in how much GTA has embraced itself as satire of American culture since then—to do the same for Japanese culture in GTA's not-exactly-nuanced style would be such a departure that I can't see it ever happening.

But while GTA: Tokyo may never exist, TR's source says that GTA 6 is in development (no big surprise), though a location hasn't been decided. I expect it'll be at least a couple years before we hear anything official on it. The gap between GTA 4 and GTA 5 was about five years, which would put GTA 6 in 2018 or 2019, if history repeats.

We've reached out to Rockstar for comment, and will update this story if we hear back.

    stopped reading after that....

Now that I think about it, a London GTA with less guns and a fully fleshed out, multiple fight style system would be badass.

Only way to get the gangs to shoot at each other is starting a shootout on Grove street with the ballers and then running on foot to the families turf smh. Should have kept the option of letting you recruit Npcs to roll with you like on SA.

It's not a grand theft auto game unless it's in America imo.

They already did a GTA: London.

That was before tho I don't think they'll do that again

Yea if they wanted to represent how the ? is these days here in LA it would be the vagos invading the ballers and grove st territory. Cuz that's what's happening these days there's so many more Mexicans than blacks, with the remaining ones moving to the south that the Mexicans are just taking over a lot of the black hoods

tbh I don't see any other place in America that would make a good gta setting besides new York, la/cali , or Miami. in cali you can feature other cities like san diego san fransisco etc. but in America besides new York or Miami every other place is whack and doesn't look like a good setting for a racing/crime game. now when I say whack I mean the lay out for the city isn't fit for a game that would envolve a lot of racing and car chases. take Atlanta for example theres too many hills. I mean wtf is next gta Oregon? gta seattle gta set in Scottsdale Arizona? you get me? as for the south the only other place I can see a gta going down besides Miami is texas.

They need to make another gta in london

..uhh yeah we cant wait to drive on the left side of the road and drive a little buggy putt.. putt ass car with the steering wheel on the right side of the car. oh yeah that and car chases with a thousand roundabout streets. the first i'll do when I play is go to the hood find a girl that looks like 9th side and trap in a bando.

I swear they need to do New Orleans, before, during & after Katrina. I think ima start a storyline and script for it. See if I can push it. I already got it played out in my head. It'll be based on one character, black guy who never left the projects. Gets caught up with rednecks who dispose bodies to alligators in the swamps. Then he gets caught up with some shady government people and starts doing missions concerning the levies (without actually blowing them up). Katrina hits and he has to survive the flood. After Katrina he begins his rise to power by blackmailing the government based on his people saying they heard a bomb go off.

You got Bourbon St. The swamp/ Bayou. The projects. ? could be dope.

Mafia 3 is basically going to be this but its set in late 60s or 70s i think.
