To many trash white boys on the court to take them serious.

Crackers was so trash that 2 players could pull down
30 rebounds by them self regularly. So many missed shots and so many attempts. No skills.

    Kys for disrespecting the pioneers

They had blacks playing basketball much better than them crackers. They just wasn't allowed in the NBA.

They are the true pioneers. ? was weak before we got in.

Don't blame Red for that, first team with 5 black starters, 2nd team just a few picks behind Washington I think to draft a black player, 1st team with a black coach, Red was that dude I promise you that

I met a white dude a few weeks ago while i was at Tiltled Kilt who played sports when he was in college back in the 60s. He ran track and field for Rutgers and after college he got a job working for the Celtics. He said Red Auerbach would call the black players ? and say some racist ass ? . I Googled the dude too to make sure it was legit and he was legit.

So a old white man back in 50s/60s wasn't racist.

I would have hard time believing he wasn't racist.

I misread him as saying he was saying racist ? in practice. That's my bad. He probably was racist, but unless he can prove he was calling them ? , he needs to fall back. I looked it up and didnt see any articles on Red Auerbach saying racist things. Red Auerbach drafted the first black player ever in Chuck Cooper and had the first all back starting 5. When he retired from coaching, he named Bill Russell as his replacement. The first black head coach in pro sports ever. He also named KC Jones as Celtics head coach in the 80s who won 2 rings. None of that stops him from being racist, but he was one of the first to open doors to black players/coaches.

    I'm not trolling.

Just because someone chooses to draft a black player does not make them not racist. Maybe he wanted the best player in the draft and looking out for his best interest.

Until I hear it from a legit source and not some ? dude at the tilted kilt I'm not believing it, Russell wrote a book about his relationship with Red and mentioned that he supported Russell's activities during the civil rights movement, players have done nothing but praise Red

I grew up in Newton, MA which is right outside of Boston.

I'm not sure about Red Auerbach but its a documented fact that when Bill Russell signed with the Celtics he tried to buy a house in the suburbs and the white folks in Massachusetts weren't having it. They called him ? and ran him out of the suburbs. He got ALOT of heat and they made it very uncomfortable for him while he was in Boston. He was winning championships for the city but outside of the court they treated him like ? .

And to make matters worse, Bill Russell wasn't much of an activist. He wasn't outspoken or good with words, so when they show video tapes of him back in the 50s and 60s the reporters would ask him how he felt about the civil rights movement and all that was going on and he just giggled and smiled. He didn't really know how to handle himself in front of a camera like, say, Muhammad Ali or Jackie Robinson.
