I just watched Pinocchio for 1st time in about 20yrs and WOW... thats some dark ?

Sat down and watched with my 4yr old yesterday and did not remember it being so ? up.
Jiminy Cricket was funny as i remember but i never realized how ? he was. Touchin and staring at Gippetos female crafts. (Gippeto has his own whole set of problems) Plus hes all over the ferry whenever shes around.
But thats nothin.
Whats crazy and creepy is the ? pinocchio goes thru.
Gets kidnapped on the way to school.
Held prisoner.
Freed only to be kidnapped again and sold to a child trafficker who is a ? . (Even the bad guys who kidnapped pinocchio were scared of this guy.
He loves "dumb little boys" who he takes to "pleasure island". Gets them ? and strips the clothes off of them as they turn into donkeys.
And when Pinocchio finally escapes the child trafficker he ends up dying trying to save Gippetos life
? was crazy. And im skippin alot of the details.
I looked it up and there are tons of articles written on the dark side of Pinocchio. One article says Hunchback of NotreDame is maybe the only darker Disney film. Ive never seen that. Has anyone else?
Anyways. Everyone should watch Pinocchio again ? was a trip. Made me wish i had some shrooms while watching it

I watched Fantasia on cable when i was shrooming one time. Felt very weird. -
Hunchback scared one of my sisters when we saw it in theaters. The villain is a conservative religious figure who treats the disabled and disenfranchised like dirt and lusts after gypsy women with the intention of ? . Definitely not what you expect in a Disney flick but the Gargoyles were funny though.

Peter Pan was straight racists against native americans too.
Imma have to watch Hunchback tho to see how dark it is because hard to believe it can top pinocchio -

the best childrens movies are the ones that borderline scar kids for life. I personally think Toy Story 3 is the best one in the trilogy for that reason.
Pinochio definitely fits that. IMO though the best kids movie ever is Dumbo. -
Yo Hunchback was the ? that got me deeeeeep when I was a kid. The end when he realizes he won't ever have the girl and passes her hand to the other guy. Wooo man I was only like 8 when I saw it but it tugged on my middle child heart strings hard

when my son was really little this was my movie to sit him down to watch when he'd been steady acting up.. it used to scare him straight.

I was on Disney fix had watched Lion King(the GOAT), Hercules(top 10) then I tried to watch Notre Dame the other day and it tripped me out.
I thought I was about to hit this chick that night I couldn't even do it for like 15 mins.

Not true. Stories like Cinderella and Snow White have nothing to do with scaring children. They are just folk tales from the Dark Ages. -

Nothing broke a kids heart more than a lot of the older disney flicks. Except for deadbeat daddies.
