All Justin Timberlake wanted to do was express how "truly inspired" he was by Jessie William's BET Awards speech, but Twitter was not having it.
After the singer tweeted that he was #Inspired by the activist's incredibly powerful speech, Twitter users let him have for "emulating black culture while ignoring the issues affecting black people."
Once he was bombarded with tweets calling him out, the singer decided to reply to one user:
After that reply did nothing but bring about more backlash, JT said that he felt totally misunderstood + apologized for speaking "out of turn" via his initial tweet:
