After Earth wasnt as bad as ppl say but nobody likes his weird ass son he was tryn force on us.

It was barely even a Will Smith movie.

That was a Jaden Smith flick

Jaden wasn't that bad in the movie... infact, all that was before Jaden got weird.

Hollywood is built on Nepotism .. so i didn't mind seeing a blk man, blk father put on his blk son, obviously wht ppl did.

Nah Jaden was on the promo tour with Will doing interviews

Thats when i saw how weird that lil ? boi was

The after earth arguement makes no sense

He says in the article he wants to promote movies he believes in

After Earth was a vehicle for his sons career why wouldn't he push it?

The Pursuit Of Happyness and Karate Kid with Will himself as a producer on both films should have been enough "vehicle" for his son's career

    After Earth was overkill...

Nah man thats his son he's gonna do what ever he can to put him on

Right so what major (critically acclaimed) production Jaden been in since After Earth?

    Exactly...

And that "white ppl" excuse ain't holdin' 'cos Will's been like one of if not the biggest Hollywood star in the world since Independence Day; like a 15 year stretch

He just miscalculated with After Earth and a ? choice for director

That true, because the biggest complaint about After Earth was "nepotism"

Pretty sure the biggest complaint about the film was that it was ? .

Most of the major criticism was over Jaden.

not beforehand it wasn't no, most of the focus was on why someone was letting Shymanaladingdong helm another project.

People started aiming at Jaden once they saw his performance.

Were there complaints of a similar nature when The Pursuit of Happiness came out?

Or was it the fact the quality of that movie negated any feeling of nepotism, if so why would that be an issue in a movie the two have done together later on?

"Happyness" was different. Jaden was just a little kid in that movie and his father was billed as the main star.

In "After Earth", Jaden was billed was the co-star and had equal screen time with his father.

Nah the movie was just not good at all... and I didn't bootleg it or watch it illegally. I rented it

And I have no desire to willingly watch it again except maybe it comes on TV by chance

Well he also (I believe) abandoned Independence Day 2 and Django Unchained for After Earth.. dude started believing his own hype

I think that movie brought him down to earth (no pun)..

I read that he turned down Django because he didnt believe Django was the lead character in the film. He thought Dr. Schultz was the lead character.

    Ego.

I know most aren't going to agree with me but I feel where Will Smith was coming from with Django. I thought the movie was solid but it did seem like your typical white knight saving the day ? . Schultz trained Django, got him money and pointed him in the right direction to find his wife. He wasn't the lead character but I can understand how Will or any black actor would've side eyed the movie a bit.

Don't get it twisted Django did his thing but he relied heavily on Schultz.

After Earth wasn't that good to be honest but the media outlets were screaming ? murder with the fact that Jaden was co-staring in the flick.

The movie being double ply-wood didn't help the Smith families cause also.

I've never seen After Earth, but if that clip that was posted on the last page is any indication, that movie looks like garbage and Jaden's acting looks like he tried to channel Will's Fresh Prince episode with his pops but he failed miserably.

He passed on being Neo in the Matrix for this

you know he had to have gone to bed every night like

    when The Matrix was poppin

I believe he did a interview years back and said he thought reeves was perfect choice for the matrix vs him idk

He's right. Reeves was the better choice. Keanu's acting was perfect for the neo role.

I vividly remember people complaining about nepotism before the film was released. some didn't give it a chance

i didn't care for will putting his son on. as long as the movie was good. which it wasn't imo
