I have family in Richmond VA Yeah Richmond ain't what it used to be. People there rather live in my area Hampton Roads. Broad Street used to be be popping in the 90's though. -
@Cain
Nah
Just like any other city......there's projects or whatever, but there's nice areas too.
Now, there's Richmond........and there's Richmond.......if that makes any sense.
Meaning the surrounding areas, that are outside of the city.......are still considered part of Richmond as well.
Sort of like the DMV with how Silver Springs, MD is considered part of D.C.....except these areas those surrounding areas of Richmond are actually in the state of VA.
Basically, if you're strictly talking about downtown Richmond and the urban area......then there may be some truth to what R.D.'s saying.
However, if you include the West End, East End, Short Pump, Glen Allen, Mechanicsville, and a few other areas.......there's definitely a lot more to Richmond than "projects and nothing." -

@black caesar
Yeah, I remember Friday and Saturday nights on Broad Street used to be the place to be......from the mid-80's through the early 90's.
Cars bumper to bumper........systems blasting.........all up and down Broad St for blocks used to be live as hell.
Remember "Black Donald's"....the McDonald's that used to be on the corner of Chamberlayne/Belvidere and Broad St?
? used to be open 24 hours and packed every weekend.
Girls everywhere, parking lot pimpin before that was even a term.....and the food was always hot and fresh too.
All got ? up when a security guard got killed there though.
R.I.P. to dude, but.......from what I heard, he basically escalated a situation that wouldn't have been anything if he had just left well enough alone.
Sure there were fights and scuffles every once and a while, but nothing really that serious.
Good times overall. -
bro said Silver Spring MARYLAND is considered DC but is apart of VIRGINIA lmao
So much inaccurate information in that statement @deadeye -

Nah, you misunderstood.
I was actually referring to the surrounding areas outside of Richmond: East End, West End, Short Pump, etc......still being part of Virginia.
The Silver Spring reference was in regards to how that's considered part of DC, but it's in another state......which is Maryland.
Never said Silver Spring was part of Virginia. -
