I know the more you sweat the more fat you're burning... but other than sweating... what's good for burning off the extra smoosh?

Thats a common misconception that more sweat equals more fat burned. Not true.
I lost weight running..doin crossfit and hi rep lo weight lifting. The more you work your muscles the more calories they will burn after the workout.
All that said the most important thing u can do is watch what u eat. -
