It’s official: Lady Gaga will headline the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show.
The superstar tweeted the news Thursday evening.
Giving a nod to her latest single “Perfect Illusion,” Gaga wrote on Twitter, “It’s not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year’s Super Bowl goes Gaga!”
This Super Bowl won’t be Gaga’s first big game. Last year for Super Bowl 50, she sang the National Anthem. The halftime performer in 2016 was Coldplay, who was joined by Beyonce and Bruno Mars. Performing her hit “Formation,” Beyonce’s dancers were dressed Black Panthers-esque, becoming part of the musician’s now-infamous performance that made waves for its political messaging.
No word yet on who else will join Gaga for her halftime performance at Super Bowl 51.
Last year’s Super Bowl, a 24-10 victory by the Denver Broncos over the Carolina Panthers, was the third most-watched in the history of the game, averaging 111.9 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. Viewership peaked at 115.5 million from 8:30-9 p.m. ET for the halftime show.
Past halftime performers include Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, the Rolling Stones, Madonna, and more. Beyonce also performed in 2013, resulting in a Destiny’s Child reunion.
The Super Bowl airs Feb. 5, 2017, on Fox.

The ? would be the GOAT if she just was on stage playing her hits on the piano, but it's going to be a spectacle with some of the gayest dancing muthafuckas you've ever seen. Yet instill, Gaga is an excellent choice with a hella of catalog and despite the ? ' gayness the halftime show will have, the ? will be a dope performance.

Kanye needs to do a halftime show. He has plenty of hits and can bring out additional acts.
With all that said, just give me a ten minute halftime. ? all this pandering to TV viewers and casual fans. -
Whenever somebody performing I don't care for I run to the store and get more beer or what ever. Or finally sit down to eat.

The super bowl half time show is not exactly a choice ..... it's left open to the highest bidder that the NFL gives the final say to ..... artist have to buy their way in now.
She has an album on the way ...... this platform is over 100 million potential customers ....... smart business -
