    All this denial...

What denial? NASA themselves admitted as much.

NASA just announced that there's 13 constellations, and that the zodiac we've been using is inaccurate. And they're saying ophiuchus is the forgotten zodiac/constellation which has rearranged our so called astrological signs.

    Wrong.

Yes NASA announced a 13th constellation however they never said that means there is a 13th zodiac sign. NASA astronomers don't find astrology credible in the first place so why wouls they announce a new zodiac member?

They even made a Twitter post stating as much after so many misinformed "journalists" jumped the gun and caused a hoopla by misinforming the public.

    https://mobile.twitter.com/NASA/status/779740183738589184

Astrologists have stated the same. Zodiac signs and birth charts are NOT determined by the earth's rotation around star constellations in the first place but by the alignment of the earth with other planets it rotates around throughout the year.

Stars have nothing to do with influencing characteristics or behaviors on planet earth. They're just burning ? of helium and hydrogen light years away. The influence of other planets on ours on the other hand is a different story.

That has affected everything from gravity to how the tides turn in our oceans and of course by proxy living beings are influenced by that as well. That is what the philosophical science of astrology is really about.

So yeah if you were born say a Virgo guess what? You're still a Virgo!

Thats what i was saying. This doesnt change your sign its a different system of astrology based on constellations instead of time of year/position of earth. The exact second Spring starts, Aries season starts. Same with All the seasons. There are 3 signs per season and they all start at calculatable times based on exact position of the planet. When there is a full moon thats the time where the opposite sign is in the moon from whats in the sun, etc. There are actually calculations to it. This doesnt change that and is nothing new. You werent whatever now "they tryin to make you" whatever. Your still what you originally were. The signs are different in this system but it doesnt replace the other one. So in summation this is nothing new and your sign hasnt changed.

    Constellations and their symbols

Symbols of 12 signs of the zodiac.
Some curious symbols ring the outside of the Star Finder. These symbols stand for some of the constellations in the zodiac. What is the zodiac and what is special about these constellations?

Imagine a straight line drawn from Earth through the Sun and out into space way beyond our solar system where the stars are. Then, picture Earth following its orbit around the Sun. This imaginary line would rotate, pointing to different stars throughout one complete trip around the Sun—or, one year. All the stars that lie close to the imaginary flat disk swept out by this imaginary line are said to be in the zodiac.

The 13 constellations in the zodiac. The constellations in the zodiac are simply the constellations that this imaginary straight line points to in its year-long journey.

A long history of looking to the stars

In ancient times, astronomers did not fully understand how Earth, the Sun, and the stars moved. Nor did they have any idea the Universe is so vast. But they were keen observers of the sky and tried very hard to make sense of it.

People had already imagined that the constellations might be important symbols, telling stories of their gods and other myths. It was not a big step to suppose that the changing positions of the constellations at different times of the year might be important to people and events on Earth.

The Babylonians lived over 3,000 years ago. They divided the zodiac into 12 equal parts--like cutting a pizza into 12 equal slices. They picked 12 constellations in the zodiac, one for each of the 12 "slices." So, as Earth orbits the Sun, the Sun would appear to pass through each of the 12 parts of the zodiac. Since the Babylonians already had a 12-month calendar (based on the phases of the Moon), each month got a slice of the zodiac all to itself.

OphiuchusBut even according to the Babylonians' own ancient stories, there were 13 constellations in the zodiac. (Other cultures and traditions have recognized as many as 24 constellations in the zodiac.) So the Babylonians picked one, Ophiuchus, to leave out. Even then, some of the chosen 12 didn't fit neatly into their assigned slice of the pie and slopped over into the next one.

Earth, Sun, and constellation Leo in alignment.
When the Babylonians first invented the 12 signs of zodiac, a birthday between about July 23 and August 22 meant being born under the constellation Leo. Now, 3,000 years later, the sky has shifted because Earth's axis (North Pole) doesn't point in quite the same direction.

Now Mimi's August 4 birthday would mean she was born "under the sign" of Cancer (one constellation "earlier"), not Leo.

The constellations are different sizes and shapes, so the Sun spends different lengths of time lined up with each one. The line from Earth through the Sun points to Virgo for 45 days, but it points to Scorpius for only 7 days. To make a tidy match with their 12-month calendar, the Babylonians ignored the fact that the Sun actually moves through 13 constellations, not 12. Then they assigned each of those 12 constellations equal amounts of time. Besides the 12 familiar constellations of the zodiac, the Sun is also aligned with Ophiuchus for about 18 days each year.
