He has never hidden his white supremacist views. I remember him saying something during the Obama campaign about the "white male Christian power structure". I forget what his point was but the fact that he worded it that way....

This is just more narrative on the power struggle of the right vs left.
Im not against Electoral College reform but to completely end it and leave things solely up to popular vote would cause a whole new issue in itself. Less than half the states of America would get any political attention most of them being majority white working/poor classes. The left would like that bc they know they always get the minority vote so it would always be a cake walk for them, though minorities continue to struggle even when the candidate they elect becomes president.

Right (poor, low class whites) voters vs Left (poor, low class blacks) is what the UNITES STATES ESTABLISHMENT is fighting over. Their respective voters get them in office and in return their voters see little change.

Fox News uses race rhetoric to cater to its white conservative viewers so that they will be against/vote against/protest agsinst EC Reform, liberal news outlets use race rhetoric so every liberal viewer/reader will fight for the reform. In the end, its race baiting on both sides, causing more divide in the country, to fight for the powers that be to get their way.

This is simply nothing more than a fight over who can win the election more easily and another case of divide and conquer.

Man, we got a centralized government, and the laws in all states are 95% the same. The EC was divised at a point in time when states were way more indipendent and could have their own laws. The federal govt wasnt supposed to make a lot of laws. It was supposed to be a decentralized govt. At that point, small states having a voice mattered.

Now though? The small states ? it up for the majority of the population. You got a guy who is supported by these smaller stares about to make laws for all of us, when 3 million more people voted for his competition.

At the end of the day though, democracy for as great as it is, is flawed.

    Look at 2016.

You had Brexit in England which was strictly based off the popular vote. Uneducated people got lied to and went out and voted against their interest. 52% to 48%.

Then you had the US election where the majority voted for one person, but the system of having a control put on the popular vote made it so a guy who has 0 experience in politics lead us all.

2 forms of democracy, and both failed.

^^^^ none of that ? was a failure it was the will of the people expressed through each unique democratic system.

brexit and trump are a result of people ( white people) placing their cultural interest over their economic interest.

a significant amount of Native white people in the u.k simply don't want their sovereignty diluted by the E.U

AND a significant amount of american whites are tired of the P.C culture they want to be able to be themselves, say what they want and and be ethnocentric.

Not even disputing results. But in England Brexit campaigners lied to the people and then once they won had to openly admit they exegerrated their promises and would have to now figure out what to do.

In the US, nobody would have called the system a failure if someone like Ted Cruz would have won. But, instead you got a guy with 0 experience, openly lying, cant stay off twitter, has no clue that Putin is about to eat him alive chosen to be the president. My man really chose a business executive with 0 experience as the secretary of state who is going to go head to head with the best diplomats in the world that do this for a living.

? was a failure bruh. In each case you had stupid people fooled to vote against their interest.

Its the fundemental flaw of democracy. Where did democracy come from? Ancient Greece. What did they eventually do? Limit who is and isnt allowed to vote. Why? To fight the fundemental flaw of democracy that we just saw take place.

SEE I DON'T think that the general population is that stupid and i think that most people already know that politicians are telling us half truths. I think people are attracted to politicians and policies that coincide with a stated intent... that's what happened with brexit and trump

people wanted more freedom from the E.U the particulars and the details they may not be educated on and leaders may lie to them about what the leaving would entail..... but people don't care about that so much because they are voting for the stated intent, which was more freedom from the E.U. IN OTHER WORDS PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT THE DETAILS.

also you say people are voting against their interest but that's not necessarily a correct perspective because people have multiple interest so therefore sometimes cultural interest will be put ahead of economic interest in other words freedom from the E.U was valued more than any potential benefit of being in the e.u

I HOWEVER DO THINK VOTING SHOULD BE MUCH MORE LIMITED REALLY only people who have shown a willingness to serve the state should be able to vote.

As for america experience is not a prerequisite for being elected...........literally anyone can be president

Brotherman, what is the definition of a flaw? Its an unfairadvantage you can use right?

You said it yourself. In the UK they wanted to be free from the EU even if they dont know what they are freeing themselves of. Basically, issue was in England, people felt that the high paying job was going to foreigners. Now, the real issue is that in the Metropolises of England where those high paying jobs are located, the English are severly under educated. Look it up. Higher education amongst Englishmen in England is extremely low. So, in other words, there are jobs that require higher education, and because there arent qualified englishmen to take these jobs, they brought in foreigners. Now, the For Brexit party didnt come out and say we promise to open up education centers for adults and pay for it with the money we wont give to the EU and educate the masses so you can do those jobs. If they would have, i would be all for brexit.

Instead, the party flat out lied, created a villian, and then made promises to these uneducated people. Flat out lies that everyone with a brain saw they couldnt do.

And then, after the vote, the for brexit party said that even though they promised to kick out foreigners, they wont, even though they promised closed borders, it wasnt gonna happen, and even though they said all the money they were giving to the EU would be spent on health care, it wont. Infact, they admitted that health care cost is now going to go up, and not down like they promised.

In other words, the flaw in the system allowed them to lie to uneducated people and tell them what they wanted to hear, not what was true.

Thats why the system failed. Cause you could manipulate it.

Now I could break down Trump and how the system here failed and was flawed too. But i think my point is made.

You cant deny that Democracy has a fundemental flaw. The flaw is that sometimes people get tunnel vision and are manipulated to vote a certain way with false and misinformation. A lot of times people are manipulated to vote against their best interests. This was the same flaw 2500 years ago in Athens when they came up with Democracy.

Democracy is still the system of govt even though it has this major flaw, which we saw two world changing examples of in 2016

Your saying giving the people the power to make a change that, 1.They do not understand, 2. They dont know what the consequences are is not a flaw. And im telling you that I consider that a flaw. When you can manipulate the people to vote a certain way based off false information, that ? is a flaw.

This is the universal flaw of democracy. You can put controls on it but then it wont be full democracy.

And the flaw is not inherintly stupid people. The flaw is that you can manipulate people to vote against their interests. And usually, stupid people are easily manipulated.

What do you mean with the bold and what would that entail?

PEOPLE SHOULD BE GIVEN AN equal OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE THE NATION AND ONLY THOSE WHO TAKE UP THIS RESPONSIBILITY should be allowed to vote.... this an idea from the star ship troopers books that book is obviously fictional but this political idea is a logical one and i think it presents a better metric for judging who deserves the right to vote.Voting rights should be earned and not given and only if you have demonstrated an understanding of individual sacrifice for the greater good should you be allowed to make choices that may affect all of us

DEMOCRACY is flawed but the flaw is not stupid people which is what you are basically saying . Everything you just DETAILED are the details people don't really care about. ENGLISH PEOPLE WANT OUT THE E.U AND THEY DON'T WANT TOO MUCH IMMIGRATION ESPECIALLY MUSLIMS IMMIGRATION PERIOD.

AND THAT'S what brexit was about all that other ? was just the false justification and no they are not voting against their interest because to many of them the most important thing is too keep England English and you cannot do that if you are tied to an economic union that allows anyone to just move into England. Now if the English will see the proposed benefits that were told brexit would give them is another matter

The primary consequence that the people who voted for brexit care about is staying out of the e.u that's it everything else is of less importance and they don't have to understand everything...... when you go to a doctor or lawyer do you understand everything about those professions??? no but you have a need you want fulfilled and the English people had a need they want fulfilled and that need was to free themselves of the E.U................. WHY THEY felt this need??? cultural reason and economic reasons.

and that vote is not against their interest if the interest they care most about is keeping England free and english

I always thought that everyone should be allowed to vote, but you shouldnt put everyones vote in the bowl.

Meaning this. Create tiers of voters. You get regular people voting. Thats 1 tier. Current and former military, another tier. Current government workers, another tier. Current and former elected officials, another tier.

The winner of each tier gets a point. The person with most points wins.

Ofcourse this is a very simple explanation, and this would have to be built upon.

Its sort of like the Electoral College but not based on states. Instead based on tiers of citizens.

But thats the point. You lied to the people about what the EU was doing. Instead of telling people thay their education system being a failure caused a demand for foreign workers you told them it was the EUs fault and made the EU the scapegoat. Thats the exact flaw im talking about. YES people hated the EU and voted to leave. BUT you manipulated them to hate the EU based on falsehoods.

What I mean is, there were legit reasons to leave the EU. But those reasons were not cited. The economy in the UK was decent overall, but Englishmen born and raised in the UK were struggling. Instead of putting the blame on the UK for failing their citizens, they blamed the EU. Based off falsehoods. And the people fell for it.

So yea, people hated the EU, and even though there are legit reasons to hate the EU, the reasons the people voted to leave the EU were based off falsehoods. That is the flaw im talking about.

Democracys flaw - the people have the power. Howeverx the people are very easily manipulated to vote for something. The fact that you can manipulate the people cause they fall for lies because it sounds food is the flaw.

That was the failure of democracy seen.
