Performing at Trump's inauguration just cost Chrisette Michele the chance to be featured in a Spike Lee project.
Lee, an acclaimed filmmaker, says he's no longer considering including one of Michele's songs in his upcoming Netflix series "She's Gotta Have It" now that she's agreed to perform on Trump's behalf in Washington D.C.
"I Wuz Sorry To Read That "Sistuh Girl" Is Singin' At DT's Inauguration (And To Use His Fav Word-SAD)," he wrote Thursday on Instagram. "I Wuz Thinkin' 'bout Using Chrisette's Song- BLACK GIRL MAGIC In My Netflix Series SHE'S GOTTA HAVE IT.... NOT ANYMORE. And Dat's Da Truth, Ruth."
Michele, 34, has been ambushed with backlash ever since her decision to perform during Trump's inaugural festivities this week was first reported by the Daily News on Wednesday.

"My heart is broken for our country, for the hopes of our children, for the fights of those who came before us," Michele began in the message published to Instagram and Twitter. "I cry at the thought that Black History, American History might be in vain."
"Today, I hope that Great Moments begin in peaceful & progressive conversation," she continued. "I am willing to be a bridge. I don't mind 'These Stones', if they allow me to be a voice for the voiceless."
Lee's "She's Gotta Have It" series offers a contemporary take on his debut 1986 feature-length film by same name, which centered on a Brooklyn-based artist in her 20s attempting to find herself.

I like that Chrisette is being slammed for this. Here's why. You every notice that if a jew goes against the Jewish code, they are punished and possibly exiled? (This actually happened during the election when someone in the DNC who was Jewish went against Bernie Sanders who is a Jew himself. She was swiftly punished and booted.) Notice that with the Asians, Italians, and Latinos as well? (Remember when Jessica Alba said she wasn't going to teach her child Spanish? The Latin community went off on her.) If she performs...she will get some exposure and get paid. The end. Its a Presidential inauguration. There are all kinds of things going forward and people are worried about who performs. Dont see the issue here do you? haha.
