Burn Motherf*cker, Burn!: A provocative documentary look into the 1992 Los Angeles uprising. Don't miss the premiere on Friday April 21st at 9 PM ET/PT.
On April 29, 1992, Los Angeles exploded when four police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King. But the city had been smoldering for years. This provocative documentary looks at how decades of racial tensions, injustice and a troubled relationship between the LAPD and the African-American community led to the uprising. Local residents, artists and community organizers share firsthand accounts of police brutality, the ‘65 Watts riots, the rise of LA street gangs and the ‘92 incident.

theres like 5 different documentaries coming out about the l.a riots but none of them have footage of my uncle running with a box of hot cheetos

the lapd initially made the decision to let fans go home from the dodger game without telling them anything was wrong

i remember my uncle telling me that him and his friends were there and while coming home on the hollywood freeway they were stopped by people running through traffic and there were palm trees on fire lol

they had no idea what was going on

I've only seen the showtime documentary on the riots. I'll try to catch the other ones.

Here is the trailer for the doc on Nat Geo.

Man....im LA riot-ed out at this point.

Having actually experienced it (was living off Imperial & Central, right in the ? damn middle of all of it) and having seen how the OJ 30 for 30 covered it... it's hard to summon the interest, but Ima watch it eventually.

It shows you how things have not changed. The same issues that caused the riots are still here and no one is talking about it outside of blacks.

I'm watching the A&E one right now. The Nat Geo special last night was good. Seen some footage I had never seen before.

The 1965 Watts riots must always be referenced. The ? was going to explode soon enough.
