I've actually been watching Babylon 5 for the past couple months. I still like it, but its way cheesier than I remember. I wouldn't put it in the same discussion as the ST series though.

Farscape and Battlestar Galactica...I don't know man. Those give those ST series a run. The thing about ST is that the series always come off dope when you step back and look at them as a whole, but from episode to episode they aren't as great as people make them seem. Like I'd much rather watch a random episode of Farscape than of TNG and I love TNG.

It stunk. By comparison The Orville feels much more like Star Trek.

    I really like that joint.

Thought MacFarlane was gonna go way over the top with it like his over stuff, but it's definitely more in the vain of TNG.

I'm not a "Trekkie" or whatever. I've seen all the movies worth seeing, including TNG cast and the current reboots. The series I've watched the most of is Voyager...seen a few episodes of TNG and DS9.

With that being said, I really liked the first episode of Discovery. ? was hype to me. I also feel pretty unbiased, so I honestly don't see how any Star Trek fan could have any kind of strong negative response to it. Its a modern Star Trek. Its been what, like 15 years since it last had a show? Not sure what some were expecting.

I've also seen the first 2 episodes of The Orville and I like it too.

I haven't gotten around to checking it out. The only problem I have with it is that it's set in the past again. They just did that with Enterprise. Are they unable to come up with ideas for something more futuristic?

More so that The Orville doesn't have that frat boy humor (not that it's necessarily a bad thing) he's known for like Family Guy, Ted, or American Dad.

Take last weeks baby episode, did you really think you'd get an episode like that from Seth MacFarlane when you first heard about this show. I didn't

And this is what ? me up.

Re-runs for the original star trek and next generation air all the time.

Even that ? voyager series..........which was hot garbage.

But you never............I mean never............see any re-runs for DS9, and that was one of the best series.

It's almost like it never even existed.

Not even a ? trek fan, but that ? really ? me off.

Also, what ruined the tv franchise was them thinking they had to keep switching it up.

Initially I was upset when they stopped next generation, but once DS9 premiered it was so good that I didn't even care about Next being canceled anymore.

It seemed like it each new edition was taking the show to another level.

However, when DS9 got cancelled and Voyager dropped.............I just couldn't get into it.

That series seemed more like a pc/feminism type move because the quality of the show seemed to take a back seat to having the first female captain.

Just came across as too pc and forced to me.

It flopped and they put out Star Trek Enterprise soon after to try and make up for it, but by then it was already too late.

Plus it wasn't even that good either.

lol, running for 7 seasons is a flop?

Dude really said having a female captain was "too pc". For a show rooted in diversity, set centuries in the future.

Do ? hear themselves sometimes lol?

If I'm not mistaken I think Fox 29 used to show re-runs of ds9.

TOS and TNG are always on. C/S voyager being trash.

    Netflix has all the shows.

    Voyager ran for 7 years???

    lol

    Never knew.

Kinda proves my point about the diversity ? because there's no reason for that show to have lasted longer than 2-3 seasons.

Yeah, I know they're all on Netflix...........but it's still ? up that none of the tv stations that show star trek re-runs show DS9.

    BBCAM in particular.

It bothers me so much because I think the only reason it's re-runs aren't shown is because it features a black captain.

Of course, there's no way to actually prove it.........but it's hard to believe we wouldn't be seeing DS9 reruns if the captain was white.

BBC America did show DS9 reruns. At least during the summer oh and Voyager sucked overall. It had some moments and The Doctor was cool but it's the only Trek show I never really liked. Ironically it's also the only one my friends in school actually watched. Go figure.

    Yeah, you must be trolling.

I dunno who "Avery Brooks" is. That implies dude is a reputable, known actor. If he is, guess I been missing him cause I only know Sisko from DS9, and him over/bad acting on that show is not an uncommon opinion.

Also, someone having a different opinion than you does not make them a troll.
