YesHe is sick and is top 10 of you go our real skills alone, I don't bump him all the time but he is my best friends favorite rapper so I trust his judgement.
But he did tell me that the show "New Girl" is the best Comedy of the last 10 years and I have it a chance watching over 30 episodes and I still hate it so I have not heard enough songs. Any recommendations?
PS I do respect him as he loves Nas, Summer of 2012 he said in an interview that he has been bumping "Life Is Good" none stop!

Boom is a great song
But i honestly dont remember when it 1st dropped. I came across the track years later while listening to a Detroit mix by Rude Jude on Shade45
Did it get mass appeal?
Or was it a hidden gem?
It don't have to sell crazy to be a classic. He spit the perfect lyrics to that kinda beat. Some MC's get devowered by a tight beat. He fought that beat to perfection.
I didnt ask if he has classics songs
I asked if he ever had a "hit" song....
I ask this because Trick had multiple hit songs
Talib had 1
Did Royce ever have one?
He never had a hit -
-
You need to have a hit to be a legend?

NoRoyce Street Hop album and Pryme album alone should get him the nod not to mention his chemistry with DJ Premier is ridiculous. You voters ? me. How you not a legend but got legend songs and albums? Only on the IC type ? again I guess.
Name them.
He got some dope albums, the 2 you named, plus Death is Certain and the Slaughterhouse joint. But I wouldn't call any of them legendary.

NoI have Royce higher on my list than both Trick and Kweli but I dont think so. I think he will be when its all said and done.
-
NoThis shouldn't even be a poll.
Great mc, one of the illest lyricist. Yes
Legend- No. c'mon son. Your impact gotta be monumental to get that status. -

NoYou need to have a hit to be a legend?
Melle Mel has more hits than Royce.
And Royce has more albums than Melle Mel -
NoMark Wahlburg has more hits than Royce
-
NoNot yet. Couple more Pryme albums can change that tho.
-
Has Royce ever had a hit song?
Talib at least had Get By
We can't define legends by hit songs man. -
NoRoyce has had a impact on the game though a lot of underground rappers pattern their flow after Royce
-
YesDo Melle Mel next please
-
No
Thats the definition of the word legend; Somebody who has songs that everybody knows. -
No
There is no definition of a musical legend. -
His crossover hits are with Bad Meets Evil. "Fast Lane" went gold and charted. "Lighters" went 2x Plat and charted...
But that's probably thanks to you know who...

His self admitted biggest radio song. I'm not sure exactly what it did on the charts or the clubs but apparently it got spins. Give it a listen
