Program To Rip Home Videos To PC?

Ok so i'm transferring old home videos from when i was a kid from VHS to Dvd. I want to put it on my pc though so i can edit and upload certain clips online.

Whats the best program to do this with?

    you need a capture device. You could get a Dazzle Video Creator Plus HD for about $80 and it already has software to edit video bundled with it.

    Personally, I have an old Matrox Mystique w/Rainbow Runner daughtercard for capture. The machine it's in runs Windows 98SE and the only reason I keep this dinosaur around is because it's one of the few capture devices made that completely ignored Macrovision copy protection that was used on VHS tapes.

    once you get it on dvd u can use plenty of programs ..... magic dvd ripper
