If you want to know if you have a career or a job, there is one litmus test. How many emails you receive or send a day. If you have a career you should be sending and receiving over 30 if not 50 emails a day. I know some people who are in career fields where there are 100 emails exchanged a day

Uh, that's ? . How many e-mails to plumbers and electricians send and receive daily? I dare you to say it's not a career.

I'm an engineer and I'd be hard pressed to say that I send 30 emails a week.

Emails are wasted time... if any company has an individual receiving/sending out 100 emails a day, there is something wrong with their organizational structure (unless you literally get paid to read/send emails).
I have a "professional" summer job and the amount of company wide emails I receive that don't apply to me is ridiculous, so I wouldn't say it's a good way to determine whether you have a job or career. -
i dont think jeff gordon is shootin out a 100 emails...
