i love cartoons and i also know tv. but when it comes to cartoons nothing touches ren and stimpy. these cats where grosser than any other cartoon more funnier. and what cartoon you know that can be on nick not cuss and you know that if they put cussin in it it would of been beyond goat. it would of been epic. a close second is beavis and butthead who were already crazy as ? . so tell me why or why not this aint the greatest and why or why not you think another cartoon is greater. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I'm a big Ren & Stimpy fan, but greatest? Nah.
They started out great, but they couldn't maintain it. Once the creator of the show, John Kricfalusi, was fired by Nickelodeon, the show went downhill. It didn't have any of the wit. and pop culture in-jokes that made it so good in the first place, and they ended up just being gross for the sake of being gross, and that's never funny. By the time the show ended, it was a mere shadow of what it started out as.
Beavis & Butt-Head did a much better job of maintaining its quality.
Greatest honors would have to go to the Merrie Melodies/? Tunes series. When it comes to sight gags, one-liners, and in-jokes, those cartoons are still the gold standard despite being somewhat dated. -

This ? right here is what kinda opened my eyes to the racism that existed in oild school cartoons. I always knew something wasn't right about it; I didn't realize just how racist this ? was until I got a lil older, though.
If you really pay attention to what happened in the clip its really not racist, well it sorta is but it has a deeper message. -
