I been there honestly. There is plenty of older classic music that you can listen too though.

Sade and Nina might be considered R&B by some I guess, but they are moreso jazz/soul singers.
As for non-black music. I've always like classical. You can't really go wrong with that depending one what you're looking for. -

It really depends.
I don't rock with heavy metal like that, I do like some songs though.
Venturing down that road I am also more into old school rock, new as well and alternative. I enjoy pieces of all kinds of music except for country.
There are plenty of songs that I like that many people would be shocked to discover. -
Cool, what Heavy Metal songs you like?(black sabbath, Iron maiden,etc) Yeah I see what you mean , metal itself has a very very bad reputation of being this dark and evil devil worshiping music. But that not the case at all. Good know you got some diversity. It's really hard to defend my genre of music, when people talk bad about it.

I am extremely versatile when it comes to taste in music.
There are no boundaries, if it's good, I listen. Much of music actually intertwines and influences each other.
I don't care about "genre", I care about substance & sound. -
