lol @ yours being dominated by Dilla haha

    Mine in no order:

Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer - Best concept album I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
CYNE - Evolution Fight - Possibly the album that shaped my thoughts the most through my studies... incredible introspect on this album and great questions about learning more rather than spitting knowledge, spitting questions, dope.
k-os - Joyful Rebellion - He produced most of this album as well as creating tracks about himself that were so insightful and relevant, I always think this is so overlooked.
Reflection Eternal - A Train of Thought - Classic beats, classic raps. The one underground album that many already know along with Mos Def's and a few others from Rawkus.
The Foreign Exchange - Connected - Mature raps about life and love, produced incredibly by Nicolay, a crossover classic.

Something like that anyways, these are by no means the best underground albums though, can't overlook so many great albums, these are just personal favourites.

    1. Never Better - P.o.s.
    2. Deltron 3030 - Del Tha Funkee Homosapien
    3. A Piece Of Strange - CunninLynguists
    4. Die, Rugged Man, Die - R.A. The Rugged Man
    5. Death Is Certain - Royce Da 5'9''

Nice to see P.O.S being up there :tu That Del album is a popular choice too. A Piece of Strange has my favourite track of quite some years in 'The Gates':

look at my avi, thats all you need

Great album, but Fashawn's is better IMO. Exile is too dope.

A Long Hot Summer is a classic, I don't get how he crafted such a great story of the course of the whole album, the skits are genius and still make me laugh all these years later.

    Top post :tu

Seriously? I got my copy, I like the album 'cos it's paper back type, Masta Ace is too dope, I think he's one of the most complete emcees. I don't think any album has took me to the Hood like he has, the Beautiful intro is nice... I think the skits really set it off.... can't say that about many albums really...

It's funny to see P.O.S on so many lists as mentionable or top 5, album was great but it's not long since been released, be interesting if this becomes an underground classic in the years to come where posters reflect on a slept on album; I think P.O.S has a lot of great qualities, can't wait for his next release.

Pretty Dark Things over Evolution Fight?!

Also, wasn't Daylight an EP? The title track is unreal production wise.

Interesting pick for your favourite Atmosphere album and it's so damn hard to name my favourite Nujabes album, I think Metaphorical music has the better tracks but it's a lesser album than Modal Soul.

Yes, over Deltron, although this track is epic:

How have you missed A Long Hot Summer? That album was all over allhiphop in 2004, I think it was.

Man, I envy you. You got a great listen ahead of you.

Feel Good Music is in your top 5 ever?? Wow.

Below the Heavens and Disposable Arts are nice choices, no space for A Long Hot Summer or Boy Meets World (I felt this more than Blu's collab with Exile, Fashawn brought it).

Nice list, When Life Gives You Lemons was such a great album, kinda got some bad press by fans at the time over at UGHH, but definitely undeserved. If Celph didn't open up for you, then it's clear to see Slug did. Yesterday is one of my favourite tracks of theirs. Overall, a great album. The others you posted are dope too. Never got into Hell's Winter like others did though.
