Tom Brady is not the best QB

New England Patriots star Tom Brady posted the first perfect passer rating of the season in last week's victory over the Detroit Lions.
Brady is considered by many to be the league's MVP through 12 weeks and has guided to the Patriots to a 9-2 record.
But ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer(lol) does not believe Brady is the best at his position.
"I really believe Philip Rivers is the best quarterback in football today," Dilfer said, "and I know that's almost sacrilegious with Peyton Manning and Tom Brady still playing quarterback. But nobody does more things in a cluttered environment than Philip Rivers does. Nobody pushes the ball down the field more than Philip Rivers does.
"His level of difficulty for which he plays the position, down in and down out, far exceeds that of any other quarterback in this league. All that being said, he still puts up sick numbers. He still wins games late. He gets everybody involved.
"Watch the film. Philip Rivers is the best quarterback in the NFL."
Trying to make sense of this, cant. I've seen Manning do a lot of the stuff he's talking about, Brady has some numbers but the man stays winning, multiple winning seasons(3 SB Rings).. Rivers is becoming a great QB, dude is tough but he still has more work to do..

lol.
what else can you do but 'lol'? -
Right now, Rivers is acting a fool.
Caree,r Brady is shittin on Rivers -
trent dilfer is just riding the train right now ....
with that being said rivers has been getting the ball in tight spots and coming thru PoP clutch 100 ..... -
no offense to rivers, but brady was doing what rivers is doing years ago - but he was winning super bowls.
brady didn't quite have rivers #'s, but he was doing it with without star receivers -
Who Gives a ? what Trent Dilfer thinks?

Rivers has been doing much of it with practice squad receivers. -

antonio gates and malcom floyd and crayton and sproles aren't that. I'm not trying to take away from what rivers is doing. its remarkable. -

just sayin. he's got 3300 passing yards...around 700 have come from naane, davis, and arijotutu combined. -

i'm talkin about those pats teams where he was relying on david patton and troy brown and david givens and deion branch
just
brady's teams recently have been much different since he has the added luxer of wes welker and at one point randy moss. so as far as this season goes, what rivers is doing is more impressive -
parallelrhymes wrote: »I'm talking about this year only...there's no denying Brady's career as a whole has been more impressive, the rings are enough to make that claim
Chargers need to get Steve Smith and just call it a night
no no no..as a pats fan i dont wanna see that ish...Rivers then would be sh*ttin on the pats like he does the colts...no no no..
and as a pats fan, to date i think P.Rivers should be mvp with brady being 2nd..but that's as to date..we got like 6 more weeks or some ish.. -
Nobody can do what Vick can do.

That #1 WR they've been missing?? Him and V.Jackson damn.... -

Almost took his team to the SB with damn near no WRs, Peerless Price been MIA since that game. But you talking about his mobility and pocket presence? -
yeah, smitty would be perfect for that. he's from LA too so i'm sure he'd be open to a trade. he's my favorite player on my favorite team...but he's too good to be wasting his last few years on the panthers. i'd like to see him go to SD

Floyd has developed and would make a solid 2nd option, Smith would fit perfect in the #1 slot with a well established Philip Rivers at this point and with the running game forming the Offense would be ridiculous...Smith is passionate too I think him and Rivers would go well together
not quite like this though
One thing about the chargers is that they put out good teams but cant get to the Superbowl... -

guarentee smith and rivers would never have this conversation

Trent who? whats the chargers record again? gates a future HOF, and better than any patriots receiver.
IF the chargers make the playoffs we will Destroy them again! -

this statement is the strongest mechanism to this whole thread -
What's valued more: Championships or Stats?
