Why do I write?
It's cause I got a demon inside I can't fight.
Why do I spill ink?
Cause for some reason if I don't, I can't seem to think.
Why do I empty my thoughts in these reams?
Easy, why do birds have wings, why do we dream?
It's our nature, we don't have a choice,
I was born with these thoughts inside that I have to voice.

Why do I curse on the page?
So those in my life are not exposed to my rage.
Why does my pen cry?
To make up for all the tears that never left my eyes.
Why is this device the only key to my thoughts?
It's like asking why safes have locks, why do banks have vaults?
To protect our investments, conceal our feelings;
So I can write these words, never revealing their true meaning.

I do this for my sanity, I do this to bleed,
Cut myself open to let my soul breathe.
I write what I don't speak, write what you won't think,
Sorrows so deep they could make any boat sink.
This lead from my pencil helps to calm my mental,
Cause my head won't let me voice words too sentimental.
Written release is the least that I can do for my demons,
I document their thoughts so they don't take over while I'm dreaming.

    Legend,

    This was a nice piece and vee relatable all the way around. Writing is defintely a thearpy for a lot of us, another form of expression.

    So many lines stood out to me but I'm mobile so I can't copy and paste, but over all good job and keep up the good work fellow poet!

    Thanks for the feedback guys. Tried a bit of a different style this time around; the first 16 bars were a lot more simple and straight to the point than I'm used to but I think it came out aight.
