New gaming audio solution for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation.

Today Logitech introduced an all new gaming headset solution for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, dubbed the F540. The F540 is unique in that it supports up to three unique audio sources and has input selection control built directly into the headset, allowing for seamless audio swapping without having to leave the couch.

Alongside the built-in input controls, Logitech has integrated game and voice chat volume controls and microphone muting. The headset itself features two 40mm drivers that deliver stereo audio from the 2.4GHz wireless base station, which accepts audio from three dedicated RCA sources. Voice communications for the PS3 are routed through the base station via USB, while Xbox 360 chat audio must be plugged directly into the controller from the headset via a 2.5mm cord.

Unlike other wireless solutions, the F540 uses a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The battery can be charged regardless of whether it is in use through USB, and a single charge can deliver 10 hours of gameplay.

The F540 will hit stores next month in the United States, and November in Europe for a retail price of $149.99.
