Is it impossible for a ex-con to get a job in todays economy?

my nig just got out and I'm trying to encourage him to get back in school. In the meantime he need a job. In this economy it's difficult for anybody to get a job, so I know it has to be ten times harder for a felon to find one. What are some places that are more likely to look past convictions?

I depends, if it was a violent crime or sex offender, you're ? . You got to think about the stupid ? you do when you're young, it's bad enough for a college graduate black dude like me to get a job much less a felon.

Temp gigs.
My homie just got out in may he did 3.5 years he got a temp gig and worked hard to keep it.It pays low and the hours are wack but he workin -
Actually, he is eligable for SS1 & Disability, if he plays it right, the food stamps & sect 8.
Call it welfare, reparations, poor man's lottery, whatever, but free rent , food, light & gas bill would help anyone out & the extra flash cash ain't much , but it helps.
Play it right = $20k - $25K per yrs.
Also, as a felon, he is bonded, & companies get tax breaks for hiring him & bonuses.
He is also eligable for free job training at career link, unemployment office, state dept of labor, etc.
My suggestion is for him to get his CDL , commercial driver license.
He may not be eligible for Haz Mat endorsement, but can still make $20 - $25 an hr driving, maybe more.
College?

I remember a time when you couldn't even get a job at McDonalds with a felony. -
Construction jobs. After college I was in an apprnetice program for a hot second, everyone except me was a felon lol. In a class of 30.

I see a good number of felons workin at the Wendy's round these parts
but construction, truck driving, and even some positions in the medical field (if you get certified) are decent areas for felons... -

I was gonna say mcdonalds,white castle etc but most ? I know would rather go on the block than do that
My other homie a cook at this hole in the wall restaurant he got a ? up record thats the only gig he could get even mcdonalds denied him
Bottom line is dont get no felony period especially a violent one or you ? unless u know somebody who can plug you -
If you have a felony you gotta start thinking outside the box because the majority of jobs aren't ? with you. One of my boys did a 9 year bid and when he got out he got a vendors license. He started off selling knock off purses and sunglasses on the street, then he moved up to a mall kiosk selling jewelry and other ? and now he has a small store in a strip mall.

Cant be on probation, it cant be a drug charge, anything involving a weapon, or a sex offender. -
