    The diversity among sitcoms was greater 20 years ago than now..

    That's because 20 years ago they didn't have to compete with viewers when there were only like 5 channels. Now there are about 400 each geared towards a specific demographic. Network shows have to go with the biggest single demographic if they want to keep up the ratings, hence the reason why sitcoms are less diverse nowadays. Shows for anything other than middle aged White people are risky considering that young people (of all races) have moved on to other networks like TNT, TBS, MTV, FX and whatnot to watch television series.

    I hear you but at the same time they dont even make that many sitcoms compared to the dramas anyway, reality tv.. and well it seems they were more receptive to having different realities.
