because my ? ass Zune and WMP 11 all of a sudden can't play the ? . Also for some reason my cd rips converted themselves to WMV when they were ripped mp3.

What plays WMV or how do I make WMP 11 play them.

    sounds like a virus to me.

    but... install Winamp or MPlayer for Windows. Both play wmv files.

    you probably downloaded another program and set all music files types to wmv by default, so it converted your files to such

    if not that, I'd say download iTunes and use that, if you don't like that, download the YouTube Downloader as it converts various file types from video to audio and different audio types to mp3 and so on. If not that, and all you want to do is play a wmv file, download the VLC media player; it plays EVERYTHING

    Last time I checked, Youtube converter had a trojan in it. iTunes is overkill, no need for that either.

    http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html <<--- MPlayer for Windows is very lightweight and completely self contained. It already has codecs for nearly every format built right into it.

    If you want to convert, especially batch conversions use SUPER: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

    Nah, YouTube Downloader, that's the name of the app. It's virus/trojan free.

    SUPER is a fricken hog. You can't have too much of anything running while you have SUPER up, it'll slow your computer down.

    Go with VLC media player, if you want to be 100% with it.

    I tried converting with iTunes but iTunes won't play the files either. Again, I use to convert that way. I need them converted so I can put them on my Zune.

    I'm going to blame the Zune software since it messed up my ? before in a different way. There's no way to reinstall the codecs or WMP?

    SUPER works like any other format conversion tool out there. It DOES utilize a lot in the way of clock cycles, but it's supposed to. Format conversion is a resource intensive process. However, if you have a multi-core PC, you can just set affinity for SUPER to one core, leaving the rest free.

    Perian is a plug in I use for QuickTime. Mac users are tipically the only ones who have a problem with WMV (Windows Media Video).

    It's a free plug-in you can get here---> http://perian.org/

    go download AVS Suite of a torrent site.
