Something you could do that got me liking different genres is looking up some of the songs that rappers sampled.

I just really got into the old school blues recently. I can't name too many artists or songs but just type in muddy waters or bb king in pandora and enjoy.

I actually made a reggae thread! Its somewhere, imma have to digg it out!

It had some bomb ass tracks!

A few posters and I had contributed a lot of classical reggae tracks.

Once I find it I'll re-up that thread so you can listen, contribute and talk reggae music :)

A suggestion that I have listen to specific instruments . Listen to baselines, drum patterns , horns , lead guitar , Chimes etc . If you are able to listen to a specific instrument throughout a whole songs and see how that specific instrument is vital for that song . You will gain a greater appreciation of music as a whole . Once you get good at doing that you will begin to weed out music with limited instrumentation and musicianship and began to want more from the artist you listen to . You can do that with any genre.
