Deep enough in the cup

Acting totally out of misguided intention
? interaction upon a delirious dare -
Too deep in the cup to consider prevention.
Too deep in the cup to even care.
Too deep in the cup, too late in the year.
Catbird inhibitions, away they fly
With that first kiss, your senses veer.
Warm and wet is better than cold and dry
Deep enough in the cup to sound sincere.
Embracing what is said to you -
Words inspiring passion, words to endear,
Even though they are not wholly true.

Underneath Night’s full Moon

Deep into the shadowy dusk, our fire is lit
Bidding farewell to another passing day.
With a flowing abundance of mirthful wit
While quaffing our cares sweetly away
Underneath Night’s full moon in May.
A clear starry sky after two days of rain
Inspires the poet in his drunken cheer
Memories that shall ever will remain
Of the raised cups of those gathered near
A toast for all that we hold dear -
Of brandy besotted beauties, who came and went.
Of successful seduction as the fire burned low.
Come you with me into my tent
Where I can revel in your warming flow,
Blissfully calling your name, soft and slow.

Revel and Cheer

The Times and places our hearts do keep
Never to be foolishly tossed away
Memories that allow us to laugh or weep
Happy recollections or dark dismay
A sunny day or grim gloomy grey
Clarity in reflection, the future begins to fray
Sitting for hours in dark wild places
Hearing voices, but seeing no faces.

Or

Walk through shadows with the coming of night
Naught but a soul in terrible plight
At Day’s ending comes Dusk’s gloomy blending
Loosing the way and ever descending
Into a dark vale, never dreamed of before
Beyond the pale, your limbs are sore.
You decide to stop and rest
Before continuing this foolhardy quest
As it’s hard to see through the gathering gloom
At what may be an untimely doom
Do not wander far in this dream
As all is not as it does seem
In this dream take not the time to wonder
No time to scream as you’re torn a sunder
Some dreams become bad, as they should
Waking up will do you no good
Bequeath you must, as you cannot stay
Turn slowly to dust and blow away.

Tell the Spider in the flower
Wait not for me another hour
As the nectar turns the stomach sour
No matter how beautiful the blossom.
