Starting it off with a track produced by Hi-Tek from R.E's Train of Thought... I thought this whole track had the power to move just about anything.... saw it live and definitely lived up to my expectations, Kweli delivers....
"Get 'em up, get 'em up - what
What's with the melodrama,
Fellas wanna hover in my cipher like a helicopter
Like it's a special honor
The stealth bomber, gem dropper, make the ghetto holla - inter-conti-nental
Take you high like sky divers, when we spark like live wires
Original, cave men quest for my fire
Express my desire to drop this new ?
These record executives keep tellin' me ya'll stupid
Now if they right, shut the ? up
Revolutionaries throw your guns up
Whether you a bourgie broad who actin' stuck up or
Some ignorant thug ? shooting the club up
We're gonna make ya'll feel this
Break ya'll spirit with ya'll fake that realness - word
Ringin' it, bringin' it, in for the new millenium to way after that
I call these cats Reynolds 'cos they plastic wrap"

always loved this track...can-i-bus has some dope ass rhymes. In my opinion, very few can top the subjects he touches on and th elegance in which he does itHe was the illest alive but nobody would face it
he spit till his tongue was too torched to taste, it
properly funded corporations carbon-dated his latest creations
to extract the information
They found it utterly amazing
they claimed the body of his work was the same thing as a priceless painting
Never mattered to him, the art galleries hated him
cause Thomas Kinkade called, said he would take 10
Complete enigmas wrapped in puzzles encrypted in language
with sound but without shape or signature
Kept files in his garage, on MS-DOS
in a fire-proof pod, we thought it was odd
Outside there was a shed with an Oppenheimer lock
he apparently kept more wax then Madame Tussaud's
We were in total awe, cause it blew our minds
so many rhymes that were intricately designed
He WAS Poet Laureate of his time
and if you don't mind, I'd like to share some of his rhymes -
^^^ Nice choice... that was sick, I've always been tempted to cop that album... may have to now.I rock Versacci, sippin VSOP and Hennessey in foam cups
Motorola flips with illegal chips
Dip-pin' like Teela where everybody momma collectin money from fiend
Five series Beemer, one-hundred and eighty-nine horsepower
I like ? with dimples and nipples the size of silver dollars
Rollin three deep in Eddie Bauers chokin out LAPD Rottweilers
like chihuahuas, all day eryday
In Southern California where the dogs and the ribs stay
And nowadays fools don't know how to act
Cause we all wanna be Tony Montana
Matter of fact, gimme five we got dap, gimme twenty-five
We got a bird and profit is made
So while the ? cut cavvy with a razor blade
I rock beats without baking soda
And money gets watched it's only illegal if you get caught
Thought you knew cause the DEA do it too
Keep seperate books for the internal revenue
Capitalism is pimps and hoes
In ninety-six I 'spose anything goes
Maybe not on the back of Canibus lyrically, but definitely a classic track, IMO. I especially like the "I rock beats without the baking soda" dope. -
