I've never been one to use "Perms".But i have natural hair and i need a better way to manage it;Has anyone used the "No Lye" hair texture softener's.?.

    My cuz does...and it looks just like a perm in her head. She uses it, blow dries her hair and doesn't have to use it again for at least 6 months

    I don't use texturizers. I use relaxers and they agree with me. Can't say that across the board though because they break my moms hair out. You can always test a small section in the back and give it a few weeks to see if you have significant breakage.

    IDK ma'am, I've had braid's, dred's, Rocked a baldy before, now I got them wave's on swim, but no Al Sharpton perm for me

    I'm VERY scared i don't want to loose my afo hair... i was thinking about testing it on someone else hair but i don't know ppl with natural hair.

    It won't do any good to use someone else because you'll need to know how YOUR hair responds to it. If you want to keep the curl but just loosen it a little, then go with the texturizer. The relaxer will completely straighten it. Like I said just test a section and see how it does, then you'll know if it's ok to go ahead and do your entire head.

    I'm a little confused though. If you want to keep the afro texture, why bother it at all? Why not just leave it be?

    I still want my fro and curly texture but I want it softer without having to put those greasy hair styling lotions to go to sleep and wake up with.
