Reggae artist Gregory Isaacs died at the age of 59 this morning (Oct. 25). Isaacs, best known for his 1982 album "Night Nurse," passed away following a long battle with lung cancer, BBC News reports.
Known as "The Cool Ruler," Isaacs gained prominence in Jamaica in the 1970s while recording at Lee "Scratch" Perry's Black Ark Studio and releasing singles like "My Only Lover" and "Mr. Cop." Recorded at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong studio, "Night Nurse" reached No. 32 in the UK in 1982 and led to Simply Red's 1997 cover of its title track. Following years of drug addiction, Isaacs' final album, "Brand New Me," was released in Dec. 2008.
"Gregory was well-loved by everyone, his fans and his family, and he worked really hard to make sure he delivered the music they loved and enjoyed," his wife Linda said.
Isaacs had been reportedly travelling around Jamaica this year before returning to his London home last summer. The singer's final performance was at England's The Big Chill festival alongside Massive Attack, M.I.A. and Lily Allen last August.

From what I can gather it was a 12 inch single released by Juggernaut or Jhuggenaut records. I don't know the year, but from the digital sound it might be late eighties. It must have appeared on a compilation after that sometime. -
do you know i've been lookin' for this song for about 7 years.. googled it more than i care to admit.. with no results until you mentioned it was a12 inch release..
& take a looksee @ what i found in about 2 seconds...

No problem, man. Glad you could find it so quickly - any idea of the year the song was released? -
i don't have any info on it except what you shared that lead to a link. but i first heard it on a dj Musical Mix tape [around 2002 & started tryin' to find it.. ... but it's been @ the top of my "if i could have any acapella in the world" list for what @ least feels like a decade.. so i just cut the treble & it seems to have worked okay...
