Plus worked with Bilal, Little Brother and Dwele.

I own both albums, ENTIRELY produced by the guy. Great stuff.

Dope thread, NOTTZ been doing it for over a decade now, good producer.

    Co-Produced with Dr. Dre.

I checked for Rah Digga, solid album; but haven't checked his solo release...

Nottz is one of the GOATS. This was the first track I had ever heard produced by him:

He instantly entered my "look out for this" list. Plus you have to love bad seed.

With Nottz having a new mixtape with Asher Roth, there will surely be more tracks to add to this thread!!

Nottz releases solid material, respected in the underground and mainstream communities!

No doubt and it's nice to see a producer crossover like that too, Kno and Deacon's production company should be sought after like that.... is it called Strange Music Productions? I think... anyways, they're both talented and whilst Deacon's produced for the like of Immortal Technique, I'm surprised Kno hasn't been asked by the mainstream artists for a beat. He's so heavily slept on unless you're talking to an underground head or fan of A Piece of Strange.

Damn, that's some props. I remember 9th doing the articles for allhiphop. He had a good view on the game and was on top of his game too. It's a shame they couldn't all stay together as LB though... groups like that should never split permanently. Solo projects fine, but don't lose touch with those that came up with you, IMO.

He surely did fall of after leaving LB.

The drums on The Minstrel Show were somewhat repetitive but the production as a whole was dope.

    Including their mixtapes.

It even showed on Leftback, the production was watered down.

Yeah, it's a shame because at the time people looked at him and could even make an argument against some of the best underground producers and have valid reasons to state 9th alongside them. But as the years wore on so did his production.

That said, this is a great 9th Wonder track:

    Murs & 9th Wonder - Walk Like a Man.

Really creative track and 9th never slipped up on the beats either!

I didn't like the album with Murs either.

Phonte seems to be the only one outta all of em to have excelled somewhat with numerous guest appearances and Foreign Exchange.

I thought the album with Murs was pretty nice, it's the only Murs album I've ever really got into like that...

Phonte was always the most talented though, I think after Connected it became obvious who the superstar of the group was and Nicolay is such a nice find from Phonte. Connected is one of the best releases of the 00's, IMO. It's deserving of a thread in fact, maybe one for the future :tu

You a fan of The Foreign Exchange?

It's grown music, you'll really enjoy it. Talks on real issues that affect couples but the production is flawless and carries the album, it's one of those albums that kinda stands on it's own. There hasn't been one before and there hasn't been one since.

Their follow ups are worth checking for, especially as you're an R&B Alternatives head. But they're different from Connected.
