Government ask ISPs to ban online access to games from 10pm-8am.

If you think you don't get enough gaming time every day spare a thought for the folks of Vietnam, as The Ministry of Information and Communication has called for a nightly ban of online gaming across the country.

The request, made to internet service providers last week, demands a block on access to online games each day from 10pm to 8am by March 3, according to a report on Viet Nam News.

The ban is seen as another step in an ongoing government initiative to limit the 'negative side-effect' of online gaming. OpenNet Initiative, a global internet filtering and surveillance watchdog, classifies Vietnam's level of internet tool filtering as "substantial", due to the stiff measure of internet control exerted by the government.

"Provincial departments of information and communication will inspect online games activities nationwide and deal with organisations that violate regulations by cancelling their services," said the ministry's Deputy Minister Le Nam Thang.

If you live in Vietnam and will be affected by the ban, let us know in the comments below.
