PS3 System Software Update 3.70 Spotted

Yesterday Sony revealed their new official headset for the PlayStation 3 that will be released later this year in September.
The interesting bit however is in the details regarding the headset where it says;
"Surround sound on the PS3™ requires system software version 3.70 or later. Surround Sound does not work with Blu-ray Disc movies"
The PS3 uses firmware updates to add new features, fix bugs and add security measures some of them are big updates others are only small but a jump from 3.61 to 3.70 seems to suggest some big changes happening in-between.
What could the new firmware update be for?
