"The Greatest Rapper of All Time Died on March 9"- Canibus (R.I.P. THREAD)

Well it's that time of year again. March 8 represents the final day of Christopher Wallace's life as early morning on the 9th he was tragically gun down in L.A. A day that will live in Hip Hop infamy forever. A Day that Hip Hop last shinning hope was taken from us. This thread is to post verses, Songs, Interviews, whatever that made you like B.I.G. What track made you feel he was ILL? What album is your favorite? Are you still mad at Puff for those weak Biggie albums he released after his death? This thread is for you to honor the man's legacy. I will post quotes from a wide vareity of Producers, Rappers and Artist on the Legacy of B.I.G. and some Photos you may or may not have seen. When Canibus dissed one of the greatest rappers of all time, he also said a line that has stood the test of time. Biggie is the only rapper to actually be called the GOAT by someone other then themselves. Canibus is considered a Lyrical Genius so for him to just flat out say Big was the GOAT only 1 short year after his passing was pretty bold thing to do. Well 13 years later, many people still feel this way. Again Haters fall back, this thread isn't about hate, it's honoring one of Hip Hop's Greatest Legends. Respect:

much love for Big, the only thing that stops him from been def. the g.o.a.t. is the lack of album material (at least for me, but you're free to cry about it)

"Notorious" became the 1st Ever Hip Hop Biopic. Films like "8 Mile" and "Get Rich or Die Tryin" are based loosly on Eminem's and 50 Cent's life so they are not considered Biopic's. "Notorious" produced on a low budget managed to gross close to 50 Million worldwide and was a huge hit on DVD and Blu-ray. The Film recieved mixed but solid reviews. The main compaints about the film was not showing other artist from that era and Lil Kim's protrayal. Some fans didn't like Pac's protrayal but for the most part people enjoyed the film. What made the movie work as a form of entertianment is that it puts Big's life in perspective. He was raising a kid at a very young age and the pressures of Life also affected his decisions. I love how the film shows Biggie coming from a single parent home but was taken by the street life. His mother worked so hard to give him a good life but the streets kept calling which lead Biggie down a dark path. Angela Bassett was amazing in this film as well as Gravy who played a brilliant Biggie Smalls. It was his 1st movie. For those of you that missed it, check it out, you won't be disappointed. The Film has an amazing soundtrack and in a surprise Twist, Biggie's son plays him in the movie:

    my favorite BIG verses;

I make yo' mouthpiece obese like Della Reese
When I release, you loose teeth like Lil' Cease
? please, blood floods yo' Dungarees
And that's just the half on my warpath
Laugh now cry later, I rhyme greater
than the average playa hater, and spectators
buy my CD twice; they see me in the streets
They be like, "Yo he nice, but that's on the low doe"
Be the cats with no dough, tried to play me at my show
I pull out fo'-fo's, and go up in they clothes
    Short-change ? , snort-caine ?
Extortion came quicker, bought the Range ?
Ya still tickle me, I used to be as strong as Ripple be
    til Lil' Cease crippled me
Now I play hard, like my girls nipples be
The game sour like like a pickle be, y'all know da rules
Move from BK to New Jeruz -- thinkin bout
all the planes we flew, ? , we ran through
Now the year's new, I lay my game flat
I want my spot back, take two
    ? mad cause I blew, ? envious
    Too many ? on my ? , ? strenuous
When my men bust, you just move wit such stamina
Slugs missed ya, I ain't mad at cha (we ain't mad at cha)
    Blood rushin, concussions, ain't nothin
Catch cases, come out frontin, smokin somethin
Sippin White Russians, ? in the Benz bumpin
I laced it wit the basic, six TV's a system
Knockin Mase ? , face it, we hard to hit
Guard ya ? , 'fore I stick you, for your re-up
Wipe the ? up, mixed shots, woke your seed up
Go in the ashtray, spark the weed up, LONG KISS

In the Comission, you ask for permission to hit 'em
He don't like me, hit him while wifey was with him
You heard of us, the murderous, most shady
Been on the low lately, the feds hate me
The son of Satan, they say my killing's too blatant
You hesitatin, I'm in your mama crib waitin
    Duct tapin, your fam destiny
lays in my hands, gat lays in my waist (yeah)
Francis, M to the iz-H phenominal (uh huh)
Gun rest under your vest by the abdominal (yeah)
Rhyme a few bars so I can buy a few cars (uh huh)
And I kick a few flows so I can ? a few hoes (let's go)
Excellence is my presence, never tense
Never hesitant, leave a ? bent real quick
Real sick, brawl nights, I perform like Mike (c'mon)
Anyone - Tyson, Jordan, Jackson (uh huh, yeah)
    action, pack guns, ridiculous (ridiculous)
And I'm quick to bust, if my ends you touch (uh huh)
Kids or girl you touch (say what?), in this world I clutch (c'mon)
Two auto-matoes, used to call me fatso (used to call me fatso)
Now you call me Castro, my rap flows (yeah)
    Militant, y'all ? ain't killin ?
Oops Cristal keep spillin ? , you overdid it homes (yeah)
You in the danger zone, you shouldn't be alone
Hold hands and say it like me
The most shady (most shady), Frankie baby (Frankie baby), fantastic
Graphic, tryin to make dough, like "Jurassic"
"Park" did, quick to spark kids who start ? (c'mon, say what?)
See me, only me (yeah, I see you)
The Underboss of this holocaust (let's go)
    Truly yours, Frank White

I been had skills, Cristal spills
Hide bills in Brazil, about a mill' to ice grill
Make it hard to figure me, liquor be, kickin me
in my ? , uhhh, undercover, "Donnie Brasco"
Lent my East coast girl, the Bentley to twirl (uh-huh)
My West coast shorty, push the chrome 740
Rockin Redman and Naughty, "Oh where my kitty kat?"
Half a brick of yea, in the bra, where her ? at
And I'm livin that, whole life, we push weight (uh-huh)
? the state pen, ? hoes at Penn State (c'mon)
Listen close it's Francis, the Praying Mantis
Attack with the Mac, my left hand spit, right hand
grip on the whip, for the smooth getaway
Playa haters get away or my lead will spray
Squeeze off til I'm empty, don't tempt me
Only, to Hell I send thee, all about the Benji's

Man I heard this when they unearthed it on power 105 on one of the anniversaries of his death.. i was hooked on it this ? is bananas

Props for posting this. He bodied this freestyle. You can tell this is 100% from the Dome. Listen to how his flow is so effortless. My favorite line from this freestyle is:

"B.I.G. don't need no practice, I'm like a sharp shooter, shoot a needle off a cactus/only thing I lack is stage fright, and you can see I completely defeat the weak/ even the strong don't last long, cause i'm brooklyn born ? "

If you love that Freestyle. Check out Biggie at the age of 17 ripping dudes on Fulton Street Brooklyn. This video shows from jump, Biggie was destine for Greatness. This video was re-created for the "Notorious" Film. LOL @ Dude walking off after Biggie destoryed him:

"Yes it's Me, The B.I.G., Competition brotha ever since 13, use to steal cloths was considered a Theif, until I started hustlin on Fulton St"

@ 17 his Flow was immaculate.

Biggie Small only released his two solo albums, many rappers biting his lines....especially Jay-Z.....this is telling me how f*cking ill Biggie was.

As a solo double album....I honestly nobody can make a double album to beat Life After Death but maybe All Eyes On Me but not better than LAD.

You have too many rappers tried hard to be 2Pac or always compare to 2Pac......There's no other 2Pac.

You have too many rappers biting Biggie Small or said he reminds me of Big...There's no other Biggie Small.

A lot of people sleep on Biggie's lyrical Ability cause he didn't need to use huge words and intricute vocabulary. "Da Wickedest Freestyle" is one of the few reasons Big is considered a Lyrical Genius. Just look at all the metophors he used in this verse. His flow was insane also:

    [Funkmaster Flex]
Hold up, shut this ? down
It's goin down baby, Funk Flex
We about to black out to ? Brooklyn, with my ? Mister Cee
cause you know how the ? I get down!
Big dog, pitbull status ? !

    [Notorious B.I.G.]
    Yeah..
You're now enterin the mode of the notorious Biggie Smalls
    Junior M.A.F.I.A. click, representin
This one goin out to Brooklyn, y'all know what time it is
It's goin out to all the gangsters
All the pimps and players, hoes and ?
Y'all know what time it is.. so this what I want y'all to do
I want y'all to grab y'all Dutch Masters
and y'all White Owls and y'all Phillies.. mmm!
Get you a fat sack, a pint of Hennessey and lay back
Gon' do this one for my man Mister Cee, representin all day, everyday
And all you other tape ? , and bootleggers, stay in the house
Cause Brooklyn got this ? locked down
So any time you're ready Mister Cee
we gon' get ? on these homos

Like I said before, Junior M.A.F.I.A. click, ?
    Uhh, representin
    Biggie Smalls in the house
    Uhh, check it, huh

    [The Notorious B.I.G.]
    Biggie Smalls is the wickedest
    ? say I'm ? ? I dare you to stick your ? in this
If I was ? I'd be filled with syphillis
Herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, gettin rid of ya
Got it locked like the penitentiary
? mention me for M.C. execution, who you choosin?
The wack MC? Or the black fat MC?
    Jack Dempsey would start shakin
All it's takin, is some marijuana and I'm makin
MC's break fast like flapjacks and bacon
Backspins to windmill, who's still the gin drinker
Ill thinker - explodin when the paper hits the ink, uhh
Take your gangsta chronicles, turn to page 666
    Holocaust, Big the merciless
    ? press they luck-and they get a ? -in
Straight up the ass, raw dog with the rash
    and I don't ? wit the condoms
The condoms is a problem from the AIDS gettin sprayed
Diseases, Big pleases, MC's across the seas
is just the way I clutch my prey, hey
    I'm crazy and deranged
Blowin ? out the frame, simple and plain
But gettin back, to the black, rhinocerous of rap
Big took a loss, how preposterous is that ? ?
Recognize.. notorious Biggie Smalls, ninety-four, "Ready to Die"
    Y'all ? hold y'all heads
Mister Cee, set it off baby-pop..

What's Scary was Biggie wrote ALL 4 VERSES on "VICTORY" and D.Dot, Biggie's producer said he has the version with Biggie spitting all 4 verses but he said Puff is the only one that can approve it's release. And knowing Puffy, he won't release it. ? @ the thought of Biggie spitting all 4 verses. Amazing. "Victory" was the last song Biggie recorded. "Microphone Murderer" was the 1st track Biggie recorded for his Demo. So basically from START to Finish Biggie was just amazing:

    Biggie's 1st Song - "Microphone Murderer"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWteyZOs9Mg&feature=related

    [Notorious B.I.G.]
A whole lotta ? want Big to make a demo tape
'Specially that, ? -ASS ? uhh
This goin out to you ? recognize
    Yo 50, what's this?

    Microphone murderer, mass mayhem maker
B.I.G.'s on the mic, call the undertaker
Make an appointment, schedule a interview
Because you know what Big Man's about to do
50 Gran' on the Technic at the right peak
Brothers wanna hear the words Big Man speak
The microphone I rip it, the burner got the clip in
    Slammin MC's like Scottie Pippen
Flippin on Old Gold, cold as the rhymes you stole
Puffin on dime bags and I been told
My words are harder than a brick, Chinese arithmetic
a thick stick and my ?
Makes me sick when you pick the whick-whack rhyme G
You get what you pumpin is Tic-Tac time Z
B.I.G. moves swifter than a ninja
Even on stickups I'm the masked avenger
Keep my eyes open and the case closed
No eyewitnesses, no names or expos
Just the heavyset one with the big gun
and a sweet tongue shakin down everyone
Loot like Michael Jackson kicks like Bo Jackson
Benz like Freddie Jackson, no need to ask in the crew
Oooh! No frontin, no fakin moves
Fightin or ? , resort to the stick and move
Smack the fool that disagree, recognize the pedigree
Rhyme is mine cause I said it's me
Step to a Big Man grippin the mic stand
Keep a bankroll and so do 50 Gran'
And, I give you my hand cause you deserve a pound
Tryin to blow up the spot, in my part of town
Braves, because you get no praise
I treat you like {?} did the A's
Recognize, I don't ? with the St. Ides
    B.I.G. down with O.G.B.
Old Gold Brothers for the others that missed me
The crew stay deep on Bedford and Quincy
Rhymes in the pocket for a quick hand to hand
You want it to be on, there's a Tec in the garbage can
I pull ? like Kim Fields, Brooke Shields
Shelley Long, Connie Chung, I can go on and on
    Word is bond I'm a don~!
I split 'em and run up in 'em I ? 'em and then I duck 'em
I hit 'em in the ? and forget her, and it gets better
    B.I.G. are the letters
    ? know the pedi'...

That's the end!! What you want me to do? DAMN

    Biggie's Last Song - "Victory"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4jX0kbzVdw

    [Intro: Notorious B.I.G.]
    One, one two
Check me out right here yo

    [Verse One: Puff Daddy]
Yo, the sun don't shine forever
(BIG: You can turn the track up a little bit for me)
But as long as it's here then we might as well shine together
(BIG: All up in my ears)
Better now than never, business before pleasure
(BIG: The mic is loud, but the beats isn't loud)
    P. Diddy and the Fam, who you know do it better?
Yeah right, no matter what, we air tight
    (BIG: YEAH!)
So when you hear somethin, make sure you hear it right
Don't make a ass outta yourself, by assumin
(BIG: YEAH! Now the mic is lower, turn the mics up)
Our music keeps you movin, what are you provin?
(BIG: Turn that ? all the way up, yeah)
You know that I'm two levels above you baby
    (BIG: Music's gettin louder)
Hug me baby, I'ma make you love me baby
    (BIG: This ? is hot!)
Talkin crazy, ain't gon' get you nuthin but choked
    (BIG: Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh)
And that jealousy is only gonna leave you broke
So the only thing left now is ? for these cats
(Puff: It's all ? up now)
And BIG you know you too hard for these cats
I'ma win cause I'm too smart for these cats
While they makin up facts (uhh) you rakin up plaques

    [Verse Two: Notorious B.I.G.]
In The Commision, you ask for permission to hit 'em
He don't like me, hit him while wifey was with him
You heard of us, the murderous, most shady
Been on the low lately, the feds hate me
The son of (*Satan*), they say my killing's too blatant
You hesitatin, I'm in your mama crib waitin
    Duct tapin, your fam' destiny
lays in my hands, gat lays in my waist
Francis, M to the iz-H phenominal
Gun rest under your vest by the abdominal
Rhyme a few bars so I can buy a few cars
And I kick a few flows so I can ? a few hoes
Excellence is my presence, never tense
Never hesitant, leave a ? bent real quick
Real sick, brawl nights, I perform like Mike
    Anyone -- Tyson, Jordan, Jackson
    action, pack guns, ridiculous
And I'm, quick to bust, if my ends you touch
Kids or girl you touch, in this world I clutch
Two auto-matoes, used to call me fatso
Now you call me Castro, my rap flows
    militant, y'all ? ain't killin ?
Ooops Cristal keep spillin ? ; you overdid it homes
You in the danger zone, you shouldn't be alone
Hold hands and say it like me
The most shady, Frankie baby, fantastic
Graphic, tryin to make dough, like +Jurassic+
+Park+ did quick to spark kids who start ?
    See me, only me
    The Underboss of this holocaust
    Truly yours, Frank White

[Chorus: Busta Rhymes - repeat all 2X]
We got the real live ? from front to back
To my people in the world, where the ? you at?
Where my ? is at? (2X)
Where the ? my ? at?
    Where my ? is at?

    [Verse Three: Puff Daddy]
Put your money on the table and get your math on
Break it down, split it up, get your laugh on
See you later Dog, I'ma get my stash on
There's a bed full of money that I get my ass on
I never lose the passion to go platinum
Said I'd live it up 'til all the cash gone
Ain't that funny, only use plastic, craft it
to make classics, hotter than acid
P-D, rollin on your tape or CD
The girl-boy killa, no team illa
The Fam-o, ammo, is every channel
We been hot for a long time burnin like a candle
What you can do is check your distribution
My songs bump in Houston like Scarface produced 'em
You ain't gotta like me, you just mad
cause I tell it how it is, and you tell it how it might be

    [Verse Four: Notorious B.I.G.]
We got the ? , Mac tight, brass knuckles and flashlights
The heaters in the two-seaters, with two midas
Senoritas, kiss rings when you meet us
    P. Diddy run the city, show no pity
I'm the witty one, Frank's the crook from the Brook'
Matty broke the neck of your coke connect
No respect squeeze off 'til all y'all diminish
Shootouts for twenty minutes, until we finish
Venice took the loot, escaped, in the Coupe
Break bread, with the 'Kiss, Peniro, Sheek Luc'
Black Rob joined the Mob, it ain't no replacin him
? step up, we just macin them
Placin them in funerals, criminals turned aroused
The Brick City, nobody come off like P. Diddy
    Business wise, I play men
Hide money on the Island Cayman, y'all just betray men
We spray men - opposition, competition
Another day in the life, of the Commission

    [Chorus] - 2X

[Puff Daddy - talking over Chorus]
Aiyyo, can you hear me out there?
Aiyyo turn me up, nobody can hear me out there
    That's good, it's all ? up now
Y'all know it's all ? up now right?
What the ? I'ma do now?
    What I'ma do now?
Can y'all hear me out there?

[Busta] We got the real live ? !!
[Puffy] Can y'all hear me out there?

    (? y'all ? wanna do)

[Puffy] It's all ? up now.. what I'ma do now, huh?

Just as we mark the 13th Anniversary of Biggie's passing. Just 3 months from now will be the 1 year anniversary of the Loss of the Greatest Entertainer of All Time. Michael Jackson. Everyone knows that Michael was the Greatest and even if you don't feel he was the best, it's undeniable his Impact on Music. Michael was a fan of Rap Music but he mostly callborated with rappers on Remixes and B-sides. There was only one rapper Michael would "FEATURE" on his LP's more than once. That rapper was Biggie. Michael featured Biggie on his 1st Greatest Hits album "HIStory" on the track "This Time Around". The most ironic thing about the callabo is the fact Michael Jackson actually uses curse words and Biggie doesn't, LOL. After Biggie's untimely Death, Michael would work with Biggie again posthusmously on the song "Unbreakable". Michael Jackson loved Biggie so much he worked with him in Life and Death. Check out Both Classic Songs and here's what Michael said about Biggie in an interview:

"He was one of my favorite artist not just rappers and he made me look at rap music in a different way"

Yeah, I had those magazines and it was interesting to read. Sadly that most nowadays rappers had to send the tape to rapper instead getting in the studio, getting ? ,getting high, etc.

Biggie in the Studio with Bone Thugs

One of the standout cuts from Biggie's final album was "Notorious Thugs". When people push play on Disc 2 of "Life After Death" something happen. A Callabo that nobody would of thought turned into one of the greatest callabos in Hip Hop History. Biggie switches his flow and style to a mid-tempo midwest flow and straight killed it. This verse is cited by many rap fans as one of their Favorite Verses Ever. Even Bone Thugs had to bow down to Big on how he flipped their style. Bone would call this song one of the greatest songs they ever recored and featured it on their Greatest Hits album. "Notorious Thugs" = Hip Hop Classic. Also for all the Puff Haters, He helped produce the Beat.

    [Biggie]
Armed and dangerous, ain't too many can bang with us
Straight up weed no angel dust, label us Notorious
Thug ass ? that love to bust, it's strange to us
    Y'all ? be scramblin, gamblin
Up in restaraunts with mandolins, and violins
We just sittin here tryin to win, tryin not to sin
High off weed and lots of gin
So much smoke need oxygen, steadily countin them Benjamins
? you should too, if you knew
What this game'll do to you
Been in this ? since ninety-two
Look at all the ? I been through
So-called beef with you know who
? a few female stars or two
    ? , blue light, ? , move like Mike, ?
    not to be ? with
    ? better duck quick, cause
Me and my dogs love to buck ?
    ? the luck ? , strictly aim
No aspirations to quit the game
Spit yo' game, talk yo' ?
Grab yo' gat, call yo' click
Squeeze yo' clip, hit the right one
Pass that weed, I got to light one
All them ? I got ta fight one
All them hoes I got ta like one
Our situation is a tight one
Whatcha gonna do, fight or run?
Seems to me that you'll take B
Bone and Big, ? die slowly
I'ma tell you like a ? told me
    Cash Rule Everything Around Me
    ? , lyrically, ? can't see me
    ? it, buy the coke
    Cook the coke, cut it
Know the ? 'fore you caught yourself lovin' it
    ? with a Benz ? it
Doesn't it seem odd to you
Big come through with mobs and crews
Goodfellas down to the Mo Thugs dudes
Who's the killa, me or you?
