jay z cant hold a album down by himself. blueprint 3 should of been a compilation album with all them ? features on it. jay z isnt a artist and he has told us time and time again that he is a coke mule that happens to know how to rap. fair enough. thats what makes him a shallow dry mc. jay z said he was moving hip hop into a new direction with bp3 and i dont hear anything futuristic on the album. he sticks to his" im the greatest" subject matter. no soul. no convictions. nothing creative . just processed industry noise that they pass off as hip hop. 2009 was one of the worst years in world history/recent memory and jay z spoke on nothing relevant to what black men are facing nowadays. he didnt speak on the recession because its too depressing. tell that to the fans who are hitting the pavement looking for work everyday. nothing positive about uplifting the community or unity/brotherhood themes. just a whole lot of self ? and telling us what new stuff he is on. thats why i dont give a ? about how much of a so called powerful man jay z. he doesnt put it to any good use. all of these gangsters jay z try to imitate looked out for their hoods and people that were good to them. dillinger used to pay rent for entire apartment complexes. capone gave 100 bills to shoe shine boys. lanksy wealth from his enemies was used to boost the economy in his own neighborhood. king david and chief lloyd set up rec centers, job training classes and small business in bgdn/brothers nation hoods. black panthers promoted self defense and awareness even the gods still build. jay z dont do ? like that. he isnt an american gangster. he is a industry tool now. he donates where bono donates and its nothing but a tax write off that he will make money off of anyways. he dont care about hip hop. he is just infatuated with his so called greatness and wants to push his agenda on u ? riding jigga warriors.

havent said this in a minute but

    ? JAY Z

almost every song on SFG involves him dissing a woman by doing them ? , calling them ? and hoes, lying and manipulating them. he sounds like a bitter dude after a break up. who broke this little ? heart? he brags about childish ? like shutting the mall down. wow. ? who shops in a mall anymore? i thought a greedy jew like him would be able to go directly to the designer. smh. "telling every girl they the one for me and i dont even call". i do that every weekend at the club. no biggie. now he is crying like a ? on say something about rubbing his success in the face of a female that left him. childish, immature. no wonder all of these chicks are turning ? cause these dudes exhibit female traits. i wouldnt make a big deal of this other than the fact that drake pulled his own hoe card on successful when he said diss him and he would never reply. thats a ? ? cop out but he can name drop janet in a weak ass punchline. (janet top didnt fall off dumb jew). i thought lame ? were gonna go out of style in 2010

BP3 suffers from three main flaws: weak production, horrid hooks, & inconsistency. The three tracks produced by Timbaland are largely forgettable: Reminder is plagued by an atrocious hook; Venus Vs Mars is undercut by another horrific hook (Shawty get it in, daddy go hard); and Off That features an unremarkable beat with Drake limited to a useless chant, making for a decidedly disappointing experience. Similarly, Hate is marred by almost the exact same problems - an abysmal hook, a mediocre beat & a guest verse from Kanye that is so comprehensively awful it ruins the entire song: "I am never sprung but I Springer, Jerry"..... while the chorus in What We Talking Bout sounds worse than nails scraping a chalkboard and On To The Next One employs an overbearing vocal loop which becomes uncomfortable within 60 seconds.

If there's one track that encapsulates this mediocrity of this album, it would be the closer, Young Forever. A saccharine, derivative rehash of "Forever Young" by Alphavile, the track rides Hudson’s flat, lifeless crooning for a full minute, before Jay flows awkwardly over the beat... forcing, stretching & speeding up words to make them fit the bars, then ending it all too abruptly with a weak final verse. Altogether, while the first 7 or 8 eight tracks of BP3 are decent and Jay brings it lyrically on a few joints, the quality in the second half of the album goes downhill, preventing it from being anywhere near the epochal masterpiece it was supposed to be.

co sign! this is completely accurate. LMAO at hudson flat lifeless crooning. wow great review

nah my man. you got it all wrong. female traits are more like you posting online about some other dudes game.

and all those jew references---grow up homeboy

no female traits are more like you defending a lame ? who wont reply to a diss from a man (40 glock zoo life) but is always trying to put down a black woman. nobody is hating on his game. infact he doesnt have game he just has money. thats the only reason hoes feelin him now because once before he was just some weird looking ? jew kid always gettin his heartbroke over a ? . im glad i grew up listening to true players like too short who really know how to control a woman instead of some wet behind the ear bagel eating bastard who didnt start getting hoes until he got a deal. tricking is not pimping or macking

and the jew references. drake is a ? jew so he has no reason to diss black women. u diss my race ill diss urs. ? jews they are responsible for every war known to man.

i dont want him to rap at all. he doesnt have hip hop in his blood. he just admitted he started listening to rap 3 years ago. drake has ZERO talent. what kind of legendary bars is he kicking? "im on my disney ? ..goofy flow" GTFOH.

u drake ? riders are missing the point. im not taking a so called mc serious that pulls his own hoe card

drake is garbage. hip hop is at a real low point where a weak rapper like drake can be considered talented. what talent is he exhibiting? he cant produce. he doesnt go in on anytracks. he has no emotion or soul in his records. its the same ol i got money and hoes rap that 99.9% of the game is doing now. drake is doing anything groundbreaking.

    1. the discussion of hip hop attended by mase, nas, rza ,dmx and some others in the same room

    2. ghostface checking big tigger on rap city asking him whats he is always smiling and laughing about joe pesci- like

    3. the fourth part of that prodigy interview

    4. the article of rakim being interviewed by canibus

    5. nas original diss to fifty where he says something like put bucks into banks and spend it all in the game or something like that the same ways he did the eat beans fast and hit the freeway from stillmatic song.i read the lyrics they were ill but never heard the song and can no longer find the lyrics.it was titled: nas is a genious*sic*.anyone else saw this?

WOW! you are the first person to that i seen remember that. wow! that discussion had nas, rza, dmx, jayo felony, wyclef and it came on mtv april of 1999. the only quote i can remember from the show is when rza and nas talked about freestyling on most of their albums (i am and bobby digital). the ghostface episode is from january 2000 rap city. ghost rae and cappa appeared on that evening variety show for bet (i forgot the host and the show title) they talked about cappadonna losing diamonds out his large pendant at the airport and ghostface was talking about the song from supreme clientele that didnt make the cut (12 monkeys, alphabet soup). mobb deep also performed quiet storm on that show.

i dont want to get your hopes up but i think i may have that ghostface episode on vhs in my garage. i used to record anything hip hop related from bet/mtv/box from 1987-2000 on vhs. (very heavily from 1993-1996). i used to upload vids on youtube back in 06 but youtube started banning my account and i got tired of opening new ones plus i had a ? internet connection at that time. i might make a project out of this thread for the real hip hop cats. i got thousands of vhs tapes in my garage but i will go through them to find some gems for you guys.

that interview with rakim is from a either nov-dec 97 issue of the source. it has that famous pic of rakim holding that mic stand on his shoulders and also a pic of him sitting on the bed. he tells canibus that he sounds like he have been in the game for years

i bought myself the mmlp vinyl graduation week 2000 as a present. i was a casual fan of em at the time but when i heard mmlp i straight hated on it and caught feelings because i never thought i would see the day a white boy makes a better hip hop album than any of the ? that year. track after track screamed classic material at that time. i hung in there until i heard never knew and my face started scrunching up with hate, disbelief, amazement. wanted to turn the album off. im back came on and i caught feelings because eminem flowed his ass off on that song. 10 different flows. he killed me with the ken kaniff line. intricate rhyming and wordplay. very intimidating. black dudes wasnt on that level. i got mad at that ? and put the album away until thanksgiving of 2000. fast foward 10 years later and its ranks 3rd in my list to HNIC and Stillmatic for albums of the decade.

yes radio used to play real hip hop back in the days. all of the classics songs and albums used to be broadcasted over the airwaves. those radio companies that are monopolies now used to be the minority with city/town stations being mainly independent. they formatted their stations to their liking and chose what to play and promote. these stations actually used to care about their listeners and promoting music. i grew up in texas and i used to hear all of that NY/Cali hip hop trickle down here though the radio in the late 80s and 90s. spent hours recording songs off the radio. in fact austin had an am radio station that used play rap 24-7 back in the 80s. (any atx ? know the call letters of this station?) on sunday afternoon they used to play entire albums that been requested all week. i recorded it takes a million from this station on a teac clear reel tape lolz. all of the hip hop legends used to get regular play on the dial. radio changed just like hip hop did once it got corporate. clear channel/viacom ? everything up. bought out stations. fired the dj's you grew up with and replaced them with computers and national simulcasts

i co sign the threadstarter. drake has no flow. its not hating its fact. he may be a average-entry level writer at best. im sick of that "yeah" ad lib. that stretches a bar. he has major trouble riding the track. his verse on say something was ? awful. timbo rode the beat better than him. drake already exposed himself during that funk flex video. just because you read your bars off of a paper/device dont make you a mc. it takes emotion first and foremost and thats what he lacks. i dont care about his past. whatever walk of life u experienced a true mc is a orator and commander of his audience. drake does not have that. his flow is awkward and his voice never stands out over the beats. ? can miss me with his so called "singing" also. i rather listen to ja rules belly howls than drake sissyfied thin ass falsetto voice.
