I just watched this. Disney messed up a great opportunity. The story, animation, setting, voice acting and songs are great when they are humans, but as soon as they turn into frogs everything goes to hell. And what is the Prince exactly, french? Why couldn't he be from Egypt or some ? ? None of the sidekicks are funny and the ending is random and rushed as hell.
They had a chance to make a great, black Disney classic to add to the rest and bring back 2D, but this was a waste.
The title also makes NO SENSE after seeing the movie.

the prince's race was left up to the viewer interpretation. the land of maldonia was completely fictional, made up by Disney.
for all we know this was an African country for all we know it was a middle eastern or south American country.
I think people saw what they wanted to see., It was a great film with great themes (hard work, dedication) instead of relying on beauty to win the prince over.
all the controversy was unwarranted imo
