How come the Carribean/West Indies being a huge island with huge population

Aren't good at any Sport apart from Cricket? pretty much suck at ever other Sport and failed to make an impact in anything aside from Cricket.

Didn't Jamaica win an Olympic medal for running track a few years ago?
1 Medal isn't exactly dominating track though. You can't say they consistantly have dominated track or field at any stage in history.

Didn't know he held the word record but that's basically just 2 sports then. It's the same with Mexicans they never dominated or been succesful either. -
They don't have the money/time to invest in as many sports as the US does.

Black American athletes have a great advantage in that we live in "integration" with Whites (i.e. the people who can afford great coaching and training) that once we reach a talent level, we eventually will be sought out by a coaching/training program that matches our talent and pushes us to the next level.
Carribean island are too poor to afford great coaching and with even less opportunity to "go pro" , ? lose the motivation and get lost to the streets. -

Jamaicans are in most sports from boxing to track and field.

Yeah because India/Pakistan and the UK are known for dominating all types of sports that aren't cricket.

It all boils down to sports development and investment in kids. Without it, a large population means absolutely nothing.

Jamaican track has been doing there thing for awhile. the west indies represent in college track heavy. Check the best teams in college and I bet you the sprinters are from the west indies!
