If you know about comics, then you know that DC & Marvel both have alternate realities where characters from the "main" universe appear different in the alternate ones.
The black Nick Fury is from Marvel's "Ultimate" Universe. -
Oh ok............ I've always seen him as a white guy. I think David Hasslehoff played him in a movie until Sam Jackson protrayed him in the major movies.
-
Started in the Ultimate Universe, who was then put into movies, cartoons and ? and then they found a way to put him in the main 616 universe with the Battle Scars arc
-
I heard when they made ultimate Nick Fury they were getting inspiration from Samuel L Jackson before he was even planned to star in movies in the future.
-
so what happend to the white Nick Fury?

In the comics, nothing, but this is Hollywood; They cast and make the characters however they see fit. Remember the Avatar movie (not the blue creatures) had nothing but white people in it, yet the cartoon it was based off of had a mixed race of people. -
