Michael Vick was injured in the middle of the first quarter during the Eagles Monday Night Football game against the Patriots. As he dropped back to go deep off of playaction, Vick took a big shot to the midsection from Patriots rusher Jermaine Cunningham. The ball fluttered deep down the field as Vick was planted on the Gillette Stadium turf. It first appeared to be an injury to the ribs.
The Eagles quarterback was slow to get up at first, hobbling back to the huddle and grabbing his stomach. But a moment later, he went down to one knee and Andy Reid was forced to call a timeout. Nick Foles came in to replace him as he went to the locker room for further examination and x-rays.

Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Tom Brady are known to lay down for sacks, thats probably why they all have played so long without any major injuries (until recently in the case of Peyton, but that wasn't a hit)
It may be less "manly" or whatever, but Vick needs to learn to let go and give up on some plays. Just live for another down man. -

a lot of the times he gets hurt while he's releasing the ball. I'm not saying vick is as smart with his body as manning(he has had some classic slides or whatever the ? you want to call the ? he does), favre, etc. but still. Lmao @ there already being a story up on espn titled "vick still doesn't get it"... -

its easy to blame the eagles o-line...but if your not getting the ball out your hands asap, what good does that do...
someone needs to tell him you cant extend every play .....i know the big play ability comes naturally to him....but damn this ? aint in his early-mid 20's anymore.... -
