I see this argument tossed around a lot and being used. Uninformed seems to be the term spread by both sides and used in a derogatory sense. Honestly it seems like both sides get Misinformed more then anything else and they let themselves get bamboozled by trying to fit in with their peer groups rather then doing some research and figuring out if things truly align with their values and wellbeing. Rarely is their anything done by either party that universally empowers all the citizens or increases their rights. Only Special interest ever get their desires addressed on a regular basis.

Both sides have many Agendas and both pull the Race/Socioeconomic Card on those who only ever superficially evaluate things the Liberal and Conservative Media Mind Feed them. Catch Phrases and Pack Mentality overides indivdual identities and Real world perspective. In the media driven society we live in Black Folks are expected to side with Democrats or they are ostricized. Whites do not have the same stigmas but are automatically coaxed into supporting things they probable give less then a ? about when they align to either sides agenda. We the People(General Population) Lack Equal Representation and do so willingly why is that???

White folks do have the same stigmas, its just primarily based on class and not race. I agree with your premise though. When the news became "infotainment" the truth started to become second compared to spewing partisan politics.

Misinformation and disinformation is apart of the political sphere, people lie, but now there's no apparatus that catches those lies that is seen by a majority of people. Half the ? that goes on now would have been exposed and on the nightly news every week in the 60s & 70s. Imagine water that you can set on fire being on the news during the 70s!

@jono I agree they have Stigmas also socially but they are not the same as we share in the Black community.

Well said we need to take a mental step back and evaluate history and actually learn from it instead of forgetting it lessons because of what someone is saying today...

Anytime you throw your weight behind a political party that controls two-thirds of the government, and that Party can’t keep the promise that it made to you during election time, and you’re dumb enough to walk around continuing to identify yourself with that Party, you’re not only a chump, but you’re a traitor to your race. - Malcolm X

They try and pass the buck to the Dixiecrats. Now back during the days when you were blind, deaf, and dumb, ignorant, politically immature, naturally you went along with that. But today as your eyes come open, and you develop political maturity, you’re able to see and think for yourself, and you can see that a Dixiecrat is nothing but a Democrat in disguise. - Malcolm X

They’ve been down there four years, and they’re — all other legislation they wanted to bring up they brought it up and gotten it out of the way, and now they bring up you. And now, they bring up you. You put them first, and they put you last, ’cause you’re a chump, a political chump. - Malcolm X

The general public must do their own research and stay away from sensationalized journalism. When you decide to open your mind and look at things subjectively, then and only then can you be truly "informed". The dems are just preaching to their amen corner, and the GOP does the same.
Both parties should get rid of their stereotypical agendas and work for the greater good of the country as a whole.
I try to look and listen to both sides with an open mind before forming an opinion.

If all you can see is your side of the story then you will never see the whole picture.

The balanced approach could work...if the GOP wasn't overrun with all kinds of bat ? crazy and irrelevant ? . The GOP has made it pretty clear that these idiots have no intention of doing whats good for America.

No Argument on that but the same could easily be said for the democrats. Both spend more time on non important private agendas then the well being of the nation.

I get that they have to play into certain demographics to assure votes but at the same time some originality and actual focus on legit concerns that would help and empower people and community would be nice every once in a while.

These people they are playing into could just as easily be lead away from the extremsim as they are lead into by the pack mentality.

All that said most of the issues getting attention from the media on both sides is superficial reflections of the equally corrupt parties they cater too...
